Job Overview

Exact Machine Service is seeking a skilled and reliable Machinist to support our Machine Shop Manager in the production and repair of precision parts. This role involves working with a variety of machines, tools, and manual equipment to produce high-quality components that meet customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with coworkers to ensure efficient operations, quality work, and strong teamwork
• Interpret customer needs and plan the sequence of actions required to complete each job
• Select and operate appropriate machines and tools for each task
• Review blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine requirements
• Measure and mark materials for cutting and shaping
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications
• Maintain accurate records of labor hours and materials used
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proven experience as a machinist
• Strong understanding of math and mechanical principles
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Experience operating manual machines (lathes, mills, band saws, etc.)
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)
• Knowledge of metal properties and other materials
• Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
• Welding experience is helpful
• Strong attention to detail and quality

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Frequent bending, twisting, and repetitive motion
• Regular use of hands to handle tools and equipment
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Good physical stamina

Work Environment & Supervision

This position operates with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently while taking direction from the Machine Shop Manager as needed.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
