Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Manual Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up various machining equipment to produce precision components according to detailed specifications. Your expertise will contribute to high-quality production processes, ensuring parts meet strict tolerances and standards. Duties
- Operate manual machines to perform job shop repairs as well as produce complex new parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and tooling components; perform tool changes efficiently using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the machining process to maintain high standards of accuracy and precision.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to lean manufacturing principles; support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Operate forklifts safely when moving raw materials or finished parts within the facility.
Required Experience
- Proven experience operating manual mills and lathes.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and mechanical drawings.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations in machining processes.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
