Manufacturing Development Manager

Overview
The Manufacturing Production Manager is responsible for developing manufacturing process and overseeing daily production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness across all manufacturing processes. This position is also responsible for actively supporting and executing manufacturing processes, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring products are built efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. This role works closely with the development team in the prototyping and realization of new products while directly contributing to assembly, process improvement, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the manufacturing production process to ensure timely and efficient output.
  • Supervise and support production staff, providing leadership, training, and performance management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and efficient processes.
  • Develop and implement a Quality Management System (QMS) that meets ISO 9001 international standards, documenting procedures
  • Oversee and support machining operations, including equipment such as lathes and drill presses.
  • Support the development team in the development of protypes and product realization
  • Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and sales teams to align production with business needs.
  • Monitor and assess operational risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Support inventory control and ensure materials are available and properly utilized in production.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
  • Analyze production rates and identify opportunities to improve throughput and reduce downtime.
  • Review and manage bill of materials (BOM) to ensure accuracy and alignment with production needs.
  • Perform cost analysis and pricing evaluations to support profitability and operational decision-making.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring adherence to safety policies.
  • Procurement-

o Work with Sales to understand, forecast and schedule parts to be built to ensure product is readily available to our customers

o Work with suppliers and manufacturers to understand and manage compliance topics

o Work with suppliers and manufacturers to schedule and procure goods and materials to keep production on schedule with forecast deliveries

o Manage disruptive orders to integrate timely delivery while keeping in process with scheduled deliveries

o Schedule the production processes to meet delivery requirements for our customers proactively not reactively

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with machining equipment, including lathes and drill presses.
  • Proficiency in managing and maintaining bill of materials (BOM).
  • Experience with production rate analysis, capacity planning, and process optimization.
  • Solid understanding of cost analysis, pricing strategies, and cost control measures.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in production management or supervisory role.
  • Experience with ERP or manufacturing systems.
  • Experience in electronics and manufacturing.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes such as machining, rapid prototyping processes, etc.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
