Key Responsibilities:
- Develop clear manufacturing work instructions for fabrication, assembly, and integration.
- Manage quality, build sequence, cost, and schedule throughout hardware manufacturing.
- Review engineering drawings, assess impacts, and approve changes.
- Disposition and support repair/rework of non-conformances.
- Design material handling and packaging solutions to protect hardware.
- Support manufacturing floor with assembly, installation, discrepancy resolution, and testing.
- Investigate root causes and drive corrective/preventative actions.
- Partner with design, test, and operations teams to enable manufacturability (DFMA).
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).
- 3+ years in manufacturing engineering or direct hardware manufacturing.
- Strong background in component fabrication, assembly, and testing.
- Skilled at interpreting engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
- Hands-on mechanical system design and fabrication experience.
- Proficiency with engineering software, CAD, and process design.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Preferred:
- Aerospace or launch vehicle manufacturing experience.
- Broad knowledge of hardware manufacturing processes (welding, machining, integration, packaging, etc.).
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and industry standards.
