Manufacturing Engineer - Blue Origin

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop clear manufacturing work instructions for fabrication, assembly, and integration.
  • Manage quality, build sequence, cost, and schedule throughout hardware manufacturing.
  • Review engineering drawings, assess impacts, and approve changes.
  • Disposition and support repair/rework of non-conformances.
  • Design material handling and packaging solutions to protect hardware.
  • Support manufacturing floor with assembly, installation, discrepancy resolution, and testing.
  • Investigate root causes and drive corrective/preventative actions.
  • Partner with design, test, and operations teams to enable manufacturability (DFMA).

Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).
  • 3+ years in manufacturing engineering or direct hardware manufacturing.
  • Strong background in component fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Skilled at interpreting engineering models, drawings, and specifications.
  • Hands-on mechanical system design and fabrication experience.
  • Proficiency with engineering software, CAD, and process design.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.

Preferred:

  • Aerospace or launch vehicle manufacturing experience.
  • Broad knowledge of hardware manufacturing processes (welding, machining, integration, packaging, etc.).
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and industry standards.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
