Overview

We’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong quality mindset to support a high-mix, build-to-print aerospace and defense machining and assembly operation. This role will help drive major output increases, improve machining flow, and support audit-ready documentation across all operational processes. The ideal candidate understands CNC machining fundamentals, process control, and quality system requirements common in AS9100 and defense programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in aerospace/defense machining or similar regulated manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of CNC machining, GD&T, tooling, and precision measurement.
• Experience with AS9100 quality systems and production documentation requirements.
• Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with root cause and corrective action tools (5-Why, Fishbone, DMAIC, etc.).
• Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation.
• Comfortable working on the shop floor and supporting operators in real time.

Preferred

• Experience with multi-axis CNC machining, tight-tolerance parts, or small-batch production.
• Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and digital travelers.
• Exposure to machining automation or high-throughput machining environments.
• Lean or Six Sigma training or certification.
