The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency. This role collaborates across departments to ensure seamless production and continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Engineer serves as the champion for new product launches, delivering tools, checking fixtures, patterns, processes, and prints capable of producing specified parts in advance of production job start dates.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and workflows.

Design tools, fixtures, and equipment to support production needs.

Collaborate with design and quality teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.

Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.

Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives for process issues.

Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.

Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Train production staff in new processes and equipment.

Release accurate part routings (processes, BOMs, setup instructions, rates, packaging) that meet customer specifications, are optimized, and are on time for customer demand.

Participate in budgeting activities to recommend new equipment and technology.

Become an expert on equipment and software capabilities to inform estimating processes.

Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Experience
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.

Experience in machine operation, programming, or other relevant processes.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as MIG, TIG, nesting, feed lines & controls, and vision systems preferred.
Technical Skills

Proficiency in CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement principles.
