About the Role



The Manufacturing Engineering Engineer oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes which maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.



Responsibilities



  • Coordinate product and process launches using APQP procedures and principles.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing process is established with equipment, tooling, and process controls that can meet customer, risk, and operation targets.
  • Manage through direct reports, the implementation of the PM system and the maintenance and repair of new equipment and tooling and the related physical plant in those areas through launch up until Production assumes responsibility.
  • Monitor and plan equipment and tooling capacity.
  • Maintain environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Take role in establishing a capital budget and expense budget for management approval.
  • Ensure that the applicable standard practices are understood and applied.
  • Maintain metrics on: equipment and tooling capacity utilization, regulatory conformance, launch conformance, process performance, process control, PM performance, and labour standards conformance.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in an automotive parts manufacturing environment.



Required Skills



  • Proficiency in English is a must.
  • Knowledge and understanding of CI tools and approaches (lean manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, problem solving, Kanban, process mapping, etc.).
  • Communication skills in English language in fluent speaking and writing.
  • Experience with IATF 16949.
  • Experience with structured APQP process.
  • Experience on FANUC and/or SIEMENS programming.
  • Understanding and application of SPC/process control.
  • AutoCAD and Minitab (or other statistical package).
