Purpose: Lead and manage all engineering activities related to product and process development, and manufacturing systems to ensure that automotive stamped parts are produced safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with customer and IATF 16949 requirements in a culture of continuous improvements.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with customers and suppliers’ teams during product development to ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality compliance.
· Lead and manage the design, development, and validation of product and processes for new and existing parts/products.
· Oversee and direct the design, BOM, assembly of tooling and gages. Validate new or modified tooling/gages for production readiness, dimensional accuracy, and approvals.
· Oversee the creation, review, and control of Engineering Drawings for parts, tooling, gages and manufacturing processes.
· Collaborate and oversee APQP milestones (Feasibility, Design Review, FMEA, Run@Rate, PPAP, etc.). Develop project timelines and track progress.
· Ensure accurate documentation and traceability of all engineering data and changes (ECR/ECN). Ensure all engineering changes are communicated, implemented and validated.
· Initiate and analyze process data to identify improvement opportunities and enhance manufacturing efficiency. Recommend and implement continuous improvements.
· Ensure all engineering activities comply with customer-specific engineering standards and specifications. Following current GD&T standards.
· Support cross-functional problem-solving teams in root cause analysis resolving design, production, quality, and manufacturing problems.
· Monitor and report on engineering KPIs, such PPAP approvals, launch readiness, cost savings, and process capability.
· Lead and serve as the technical liaison between engineering, production, and quality teams.
· Ensure full compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and company quality systems.
· Train and oversee department employees to ensure all work adheres to established engineering practices, quality systems, and company policies.
Qualifications:
· A Bachelor’s Degree or greater in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Quality, or Mechanical).
· Minimum 4 years of experience in automotive metal stamping manufacturing plant as an Engineer in Mechanical, Quality, Industrial or Manufacturing (3 years for Master’s degree holder).
· Manufacturing Engineer Supervisory Experience is preferred but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $136,739.00 per year
