Location: In Person - Provo, Utah
Compensation Range: $65,000 - $90,000 + Employee Stock Options

The Role:
We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Production Manager to lead and optimize production processes for our advanced propulsion systems. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, providing the opportunity to build, train, and manage production leads and technicians while driving Operational Excellence across our facilities.

You will:

  • Develop and implement optimized production methods to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and grow a multidisciplinary production team across multiple areas.
  • Establish standard work, process documentation, and quality control systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and production control teams to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Actively participate in hands-on production work as needed, supporting a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, production management, or advanced manufacturing roles.
  • Proven experience leading production teams, including technicians and shift leads.
  • Hands-on experience with process development, production line setup, and assembly/integration optimization.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, Kanban).
  • Ability to understand technical details of every system being produced.
  • Experience implementing standard work, process documentation, and quality control systems.
  • Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Familiarity with EV or hybrid propulsion systems, batteries, electrical/mechanical integration, and high-voltage safety standards.
  • CAD modeling experience.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling, and inventory management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective collaboration with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

  • Comfortable working hands-on in a production environment.
  • Adaptable to a dynamic startup environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to take initiative and follow through to achieve targets.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
