Manufacturing Fabrication Welder

Sterling Custom Sheet Metal is seeking a Fabrication Welder to join our dynamic team. This role requires a motivated person who takes pride in their work and stays on task. Starting pay is $25 with a range dependent on level of experience and ability.

Fabrication Welder Major Duties, Tasks, and Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and assemble structural components to assist in manufacturing. This position's focus is to facilitate building carts, racks, plugs and other components needed to manufacture products.
• Utilize basic hand tools to fabricate components.
• Cut with an oxy-acetylene torch and plasma. Pose the ability to take measurements, design and build different types of brackets, carts, and some structural components.
• Weld using GMAW, SMAW, GTAW on carbon steel and stainless steel. Aluminum is a bonus.
• Organization and good housekeeping both during and after project completion.
• Physically carry 50lbs as well as bend, crouch, and kneel while performing tasks, and wear the required PPE for the task being performed.
• Pass random drug screening.
• Follow safety standards and adhere to the company attendance policy.
• Willing to work 8–10-hour shifts Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work.

Maintenance Technician Requirements – Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• This position requires 5 years of continuous full-time welding experience.
• Must be a self-starter and has the desire to see projects to completion.
• Strong metal fabrication background.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication fitting techniques.
• Critical thinking ability to design and fabricate custom components to assist manufacturing operations.
• Basic understanding of setting welder parameters.
• Knowledge and experience utilizing basic hand tools.
• Possess the discipline to execute tasks without procrastination.
• Proficient time management skills to work at a good pace, executing tasks.
• General knowledge of industry safety standards.
• Effective interpersonal skills to relate cordially with team members and coworkers.
• Ability to handle basic hand tools safely.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Practice good housekeeping in all work areas to prevent issues.
