Responsibilities:

Plans, directs, and implements manufacturing processes in plant as assigned.

Supports department performance with real-time problem solving, coordinating technical resources as required.

Contributes to departmental efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Processes in support may include machining, assembly, automation, and testing.

Tracks metrics to discover areas for improvement and monitor upgrades.

Optimizes productivity by designing, implementing, and testing new procedures.

Provides thorough instructions for process operation and changes.
-
Conducts risk assessments, support APQP toolbox methods.
-
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality assurance standards.

Analyzes and designs; workflow, staffing utilization, space requirements for maximum efficiency.

Utilizes process simulation software to test and find the most appropriate production strategies.
-
Assembles reports to document process status and changes.
-
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.

Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.

Communicates findings and proposals to upper management.
-
Assesses compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

Reports to Engineering/Maintenance Manager
Work Experience:
-
Previous experience working with CAD and AutoCAD, PFEMA/Control Plans (IQS), Process Data/Results related Programs (Database), Project management Programs (CDB)
-
Thorough understanding of scientific concepts.
-
Six Sigma Green or Black Belt experience.
-
Tier 1 automotive experience.
-
Experience with robot programming.
-
Application experience with lean tools like Value Stream Mapping, Kanban system design and implementation, Total Predictive Maintenance.

Application experience with structured problem-solving techniques/tools.
-
Clear verbal/written communication skills.

Able to work in a self-directed manner.

Able to organize work requirement and to delegate appropriately.

Able to work hands-on in equipment when necessary for troubleshooting; process support, change management, etc.

Hand-eye coordination skills.
Qualifications:
BS Degree in Engineering or Equivalent
3 years previous experience in manufacturing assembly process engineering
