Innovative Engineering Solutions (IES) has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing/ Production Manager, to oversee the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility, which includes planning, coordinating, and directing the activities and processes that result in products being manufactured and assembled.
Job Description
- Effectively and efficiently manage the production of daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs where possible, and ensuring best working practices are maintained
- Responsible for production, financial performance, meeting customer requirements and maintaining the orderly and productive operation of planned activities
- Current product lines support the Launch Vehicle industry, where deliverables are low quantity but high precision products
- Communicate and liaise with other department managers (i.e., Engineering, Test Operations, Quality, etc.) regarding changing needs and/or requirements
- Communicate and liaise with the supplier base to ensure a strong and ongoing relationship
- Drive process improvements through data analysis, root cause analysis, and risk and opportunity assessments
- Manage, coach and develop a high performing manufacturing team of 3-5 employees through training and development, that meets agreed objectives, delivers best practice results, provides added value and works for continuous improvements
- Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance with department employees and management
- Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction
- Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimizing cost
- Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Manufacturing activities
- Collaborate with manufacturing team to address and resolve product non-conformances
- Able to fill in for Production Engineers as required within a small organization. Hands on experience with assembly is a plus
- Review and approve Manufacturing Process Plans
- Develop and oversee receiving inspections of production hardware
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferable in an engineering or scientific discipline.
- 5+ years of experience as a Production Manager, Production Engineer, and/or Quality Engineer
· Keen attention-to-detail
· Strong commitment to quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical procedures, MPP’s, engineering drawings, etc
- Excellent document writing skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Production experience within an ISO 9001/ AS9100 Quality System
· Experience/Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, inspection, coatings, soldering, welding, circuit boards, part marking, assembly, and cleaning
· Experience with MiSYS or similar MRP System for Inventory Control, Comprehensive Tracking and Purchasing.
· Demonstrated leadership effectiveness and act with a sense of urgency to drive results
· Manage production schedules
· Experience with Refurbishing Aerospace hardware and re-certifying for re-use.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
