Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Marine Biologist to support our laboratory
operations. The candidate will be responsible for conducting zooplankton, phytoplankton,
benthic, diversity, fish, and all other biological and marine-related parameter analyses,
as well as preparing detailed biological reports for offshore and coastal monitoring projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct zooplankton, phytoplankton, benthic, fish, and other marine biological sample analysis.
- Perform biodiversity assessments and species identification.
- Carry out all biological and marine parameter testing as required for projects.
- Prepare comprehensive biological, ecological, and environmental monitoring reports.
- Perform field sampling for offshore and coastal monitoring assignments.
- Maintain sample logs, field data sheets, and laboratory records.
- Ensure adherence to standard analytical methods (APHA/ISO/NABL where applicable).
- Maintain laboratory instruments and perform routine calibration and quality checks.
- Coordinate sampling schedules and project timelines with internal teams.
Required Qualifications:
- M.Sc./B.Sc. in Marine Biology, Zoology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in marine biological analysis (freshers with strong knowledge may also apply).
- Strong understanding of plankton analysis, benthic taxonomy, fish identification, and marine ecology.
- Experience with microscopy and biological sample preparation.
- Ability to prepare technical reports independently.
- Willingness to travel for offshore and coastal field assignments.
Skills Required:
- Strong analytical and species identification skills.
- Good communication and scientific report-writing skills.
- Knowledge of marine biodiversity, ecology, and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
