Job Summary:
The Marine Cable Engineer will be responsible for supervising and managing marine cable installation, testing, and maintenance activities for projects. The role involves ensuring adherence to technical standards, safety compliance, and timely completion of marine electrical cable works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate marine cable laying, jointing, and termination activities.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project specifications and safety regulations.
- Conduct inspection and testing of marine cables before and after installation.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for project progress and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with civil, electrical, and protection teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Troubleshoot issues related to cable performance or marine installation processes.
- Ensure compliance with OETC safety and environmental policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Marine / Power Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in marine cable installation or transmission projects.
- Prior experience in HV/EHV cable laying and offshore works preferred.
- Strong understanding of cable testing procedures and marine safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
