Marine Construction Welder/Fabricator

Location: Benton Harbor to Muskegon, MI

About the Position

We are a marine construction company seeking hardworking, reliable individuals with welding and fabrication experience to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of marine construction projects while learning new skills and advancing your career.

Stick welding experience is required.

We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn. While welding experience is essential, we are willing to train the right candidate in other aspects of marine construction.

What We Build

Our company specializes in the construction and installation of:

• Stone revetment walls
• Steel sheet pile walls
• Docks
• Boat lifts
• Pilings
• Lake Michigan Stairs
• Other shoreline and marine structures

Projects are located throughout the lakeshore region from Benton Harbor to Muskegon.

Job Responsibilities

This position involves a variety of tasks, including:

• Stick welding and fabrication
• Rigging and material handling
• Barge operations
• Pile driving
• Use of power and pneumatic tools
• Crane operation
• Heavy equipment operation (excavators, skid steers, telehandlers)
• Tugboat and workboat operation
• General construction labor

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience with stick welding
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable transportation to job sites
• Comfortable working around water
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to follow instructions and retain on-the-job training
• Safety-conscious mindset

Preferred Experience

• Steel erection construction
• Steel fabrication
• Field mechanics
• Excavation
• Farming or agricultural equipment
• Heavy equipment operation
• Torch cutting and welding

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform physically demanding work
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift, carry, and handle construction materials and equipment

Additional Information

• Company yard is located in the Saugatuck/Hamilton area
• Transportation from the yard to job sites is provided
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older
• Training opportunities are available for motivated individuals
