Pay Range: $32–$50+/hr (Based on PROVABLE Experience)

ROLE SUMMARY

On Pointe Contracting is hiring an experienced Seawall / Landscaping Foreman & Equipment Operator to lead shoreline construction, seawall installation, excavation, hardscape, grading, drainage, and waterfront development projects throughout Michigan.

This is not an entry-level foreman position.

We are looking for a proven leader who can independently run projects, lead crews, operate equipment, perform field fabrication when necessary, communicate professionally with management and customers, and consistently produce high-quality work without constant oversight.

This is a working foreman position. You will be expected to lead from the front, work alongside your crew, and take ownership of your projects, equipment, and production.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Candidates must have demonstrated experience in:

  • Steel seawall installation
  • Vinyl seawall installation
  • Shoreline stabilization and riprap installation
  • Excavation and grading
  • Drainage and site work
  • Hardscape and landscape construction
  • Heavy equipment operation
  • Crew leadership and supervision
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Trailer towing and equipment transport
  • Reading plans, layouts, and project scopes

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE

  • Excavators
  • Mini Excavators
  • Skid Steers
  • Track Loaders
  • Forklifts
  • Compact Equipment
  • Trailers and equipment hauling

FABRICATION & WELDING REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must possess fabrication and welding experience, including:

  • MIG Welding
  • Stick Welding
  • Oxy-Acetylene Cutting
  • Plasma Cutting
  • Structural Steel Fabrication
  • Field Modifications and Repairs

Many projects require custom fabrication, steel reinforcement, bracket fabrication, seawall modifications, and equipment repairs in the field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead field crews on seawall, excavation, hardscape, and shoreline projects
  • Manage daily jobsite operations
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials
  • Perform layout and project execution
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently
  • Ensure projects are completed according to scope and schedule
  • Maintain professional customer interactions
  • Train and develop crew members
  • Communicate directly with Project Management regarding production, scheduling, and material needs
  • Document job progress with photos and field reporting

EQUIPMENT ACCOUNTABILITY

Foremen are responsible for the care, maintenance, organization, and readiness of:

  • Company trucks
  • Trailers
  • Excavators
  • Skid Steers
  • Welding equipment
  • Fabrication equipment
  • Power tools
  • Specialty equipment
  • Rigging and hardware

Equipment must remain clean, organized, maintained, and job-ready at all times.

DRIVING & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate must:

  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Maintain a clean driving record
  • Be insurable under company insurance policies
  • Be capable of safely towing trailers and equipment
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures

Safety violations, reckless driving, equipment abuse, or disregard for company policies will not be tolerated.
