Marine Electrician

Responsibilities and essential functions:

Manufactures quality products per customer specifications and internal build procedures with all skills necessary to complete project on time. Participates in activities with team members engaged in all electrical and related fabrication processes. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with company policies, department procedures and work instructions.

  • Analyzes work orders and build sequences; interprets specifications, construction notes, shop drawings and related documents to gain understanding then apply work requirements.
  • Builds product alone or alongside other skilled tradesmen, both apprentice and journeymen.
  • Layout, cut, fit-up, weld and fabricate various simple and complex instrument gauge panels, electrical conduit/cable tray, wiring assemblies, wire-pull and termination. Join pipe/conduit via compression type tube fittings, threading, bolting or other mechanical means. Assemble components as part of overall project.
  • At project completion, ensures Inspection Record is properly filled out, signatures in place; BMS updated and turned in; all effected drawings red-lined; red tags and punch list are filled out and attached prior to requesting QC inspection.
  • Recommends and implements changes to designs and production processes to improve production methods and quality of products.
  • Responsible to follow and enforce established safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Electrical Leader.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proficient in advanced shop math.
  • Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Ability to operate all trade related tools and equipment.
  • Able to work in a shop environment and be able to lift 25-50 pounds.

Required:

  • Ability to use measuring tools (micrometers, Calipers, tape measure) and able to read technical drawings.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.

Salary:

  • Hourly rate of $18 to $25 depending on experience.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
