Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Marine Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on specialized HVAC systems aboard marine vessels, ensuring optimal climate control and mechanical performance in challenging environments. As a Marine HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on ships and maritime facilities. Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot marine HVAC systems, including refrigeration, air conditioning, and ventilation units using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, boilers, pumps, and related mechanical systems to ensure reliable operation during voyages or at dockside facilities.
- Repair and replace components such as compressors, fans, motors, valves, and piping—utilizing welding skills when necessary—to restore system functionality efficiently.
- Read and interpret HVAC design plans, schematics, and technical drawings to execute precise installations or repairs aligned with safety standards.
- Conduct plumbing work related to refrigeration systems and air conditioning units to maintain proper fluid flow and system integrity.
- Install new HVAC systems or upgrade existing equipment aboard vessels or within maritime property infrastructure following strict safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs to ensure compliance with maritime regulations and company standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration), ideally within the construction or property maintenance sectors.
- Certifications is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems including refrigeration (Ammonia refrigeration experience is a plus), boilers, pumps, valves, and related machinery.
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and design plans accurately for installation or troubleshooting purposes.
- Hands-on experience with equipment repair involving electrical components using tools like ohmmeters; welding skills are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems related to refrigeration and air conditioning units; knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of safety standards specific to marine environments including the handling of refrigerants like ammonia and compliance with maritime regulations.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
