Overview

Charter Marine is seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic / Powersports Technician to join our growing team in Annandale, Minnesota. We service over 400 boats and personal watercraft annually and are looking for a motivated technician who enjoys diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of marine engines and watercraft.

This is a full-time, year-round position with NO winter layoffs, 4 day work weeks in the winter competitive pay, overtime opportunities, monthly performance incentives, and advancement potential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair marine engines, drivetrains, fuel systems, cooling systems, and electrical systems.
• Perform routine maintenance including annual services, 100-hour, 300-hour, and 500-hour services.
• Utilize diagnostic software and scan tools to identify engine and electrical faults.
• Service and repair Sea-Doo, Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Volvo Penta, PCM, Indmar, and MerCruiser products.
• Perform propeller inspections, lower unit repairs, water pump services, steering repairs, and rigging work.
• Conduct battery testing, charging system diagnostics, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Complete lake testing and operational testing after repairs.
• Document findings, labor hours, parts used, and recommendations on repair orders.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and maintenance recommendations.
• New Boat and Pontoon Rigging

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of marine, powersports, automotive, or related mechanical experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of marine engines and electrical systems.
• Experience using diagnostic software and scan tools.
• Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting fuel, ignition, cooling, and charging systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
