Job Title: Marine Operations Manager

The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Marine Operations and Buoy Systems, the Marine Operations Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of offshore installation of OPT systems globally. Specific responsibilities include working with OPT engineering and operations teams, offshore subcontractors, and customers to plan, coordinate, and execute installation, maintenance, and recovery of OPT equipment worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:

Plans and supervises all OPT offshore operations

Provide marine technical and operational input to projects

Responsible for obtaining and maintaining all offshore permitting and licenses as necessary

Establish and maintain marine stakeholder relationships.

Manage marine interfaces between projects - industry standards.

Document Lessons Learned and provide monitoring and feedback to support process improvements.

Manages offshore subcontractors when applicable, including development of necessary work plans, procedures, schedules, risk assessments, etc.

Coordinates with OPT safety and quality personnel to ensure all OPT safety and quality policies and procedures are followed, and risks properly managed.

Works with Operations team to develop a thorough knowledge of OPT systems, including PowerBuoys, WAM-V’s, and associated offshore power and data systems.

Works with Operations and Engineering to develop and maintain library of standard assembly, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and recovery procedures.

Works with Program Management, Operations and Business Development teams to develop service strategies, including identifying and managing regional service partners.

Supports Program Management and Commercial Team in advising customers of installation requirements and supports permitting efforts when necessary

Advise Project Managers and Directors on the impact of technical/specialist risks and issues and the viability of solutions recommended.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Degree in relevant engineering discipline, preferably Marine Engineering or Master Mariner or equivalent. (15+ years of experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree)

10+ years of relevant professional experience including offshore construction, marine cable installation, etc.

Knowledge of maritime standards and regulations.

Machine and electrical assembly skills, including ability to read prints and understanding of wiring diagrams

Experience working within a Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 or a similar quality standard

Proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Project.

Works well in a multi-disciplinary team environment

Experience in commercial negotiations.

Experience with renewables/power generation industry a plus

Willingness to support global operations including international travel as needed

Salary range is $130,000 - $145,000 per year and includes the following:
