Job Title: Marine Project Engineer

Job Summary:
The Marine Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising marine construction and shipbuilding/repair projects. The role includes ensuring site feasibility, material management, and accurate project documentation while adhering to marine industry safety and quality standards. This position requires strong technical knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams including managers, subcontractors, classification authorities, and yard personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Supervision: Oversee day-to-day execution of marine/shipyard projects to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion.
  • Site Feasibility: Review drawings, conduct feasibility assessments, and ensure compliance with project specifications and marine standards.
  • Material Procurement & Inspection: Coordinate with Manager and Stores to verify incoming materials; report deviations from RFQs and approved specifications to the Purchase Department.
  • Resource Allocation: Assign subcontractors and wage workers based on daily and milestone requirements.
  • Progress Monitoring: Share regular progress updates and site photos through designated communication channels (morning and end-of-day).
  • Material Tracking: Maintain accurate records of material consumption and stock utilization.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including daily reports, contractor timesheets, and work completion certificates.
  • Quality Control: Assist IQC activities and coordinate survey inspections from authorities such as IRS, KIV, and other marine regulatory bodies.
  • Communication: Convey project scope, schedules, and quality expectations clearly to FRP teams and vendors.
  • Work Planning: Develop weekly work schedules, prioritize tasks, and update Project/Assistant Manager on progress.
  • Yard Management: Ensure proper housekeeping and maintenance of safe working conditions within the project area.
  • Meetings & Coordination: Participate in project review and design meetings to support continuous improvement.
  • Manpower Planning: Provide weekly manpower requirements for subcontractors to the Purchase/Project team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in Mechanical/Marine/Naval Architecture Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in marine, shipbuilding, ship repair, or related project environments.
  • Strong leadership and project coordination skills within a shipyard or marine setting.
  • Ability to plan tasks, manage workforce, and handle multiple operational priorities.
  • Proficient in documentation, timekeeping, and reporting tools.
  • Preferred candidates from Kerala with marine project exposure.

Job Location:

  • First 6 months: Varanasi
  • Subsequent posting: Alappuzha

Salary:

Starting from ₹30,000 per month + food and accommodation (based on experience and qualifications).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 per month
