Key Responsibilities
- Monitor entrances and exits of the slipway yard.
- Verify the identity of employees, visitors, and contractors.
- Prevent unauthorized entry and maintain visitor logs.
- Patrol the yard regularly to prevent theft, vandalism, or accidents.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and other surveillance equipment.
- Report any suspicious activity to supervisors immediately.
Ensure all personnel follow safety rules, especially near vessels and heavy machinery.
- Respond to emergencies such as fire, medical incidents, or equipment malfunction.
- Prepare daily security reports detailing incidents, irregularities, or security breaches.
- Notify management of hazards or breaches of safety protocols.
- Protect vessels, machinery, and tools from theft or damage.
- Assist in securing areas after work hours or during non-operational periods.
- Assist slipway staff in enforcing safety zones during vessel movements.
- Coordinate with local authorities in case of security threats or emergencies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a security guard, preferably in corporate or industrial settings.
- Valid security certification or license (as required locally).
- Knowledge of safety protocols, emergency procedures, and fire safety.
- Strong alertness and observational skills.
- Good communication skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
- Physically fit and able to perform patrols or security duties.
