Schneider's Motorsports & Marine is a growing, family-owned dealership serving Southeast Michigan and the Lake St. Clair area. We specialize in boat and trailer sales, marine service, storage, parts, accessories, and customer support.

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Marine Yard & General Laborer. This is a full-time, year-round position supporting daily operations throughout our dealership, service department, storage facilities, and yard.

Position Overview

This is a hands-on labor position responsible for maintaining our yard, buildings, equipment, boats, and trailers while supporting our sales and service departments.

No two days are exactly the same. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors, learning new tasks, and helping wherever needed.

This position requires a flexible, team-first attitude. The successful candidate must be willing to perform a variety of duties beyond those specifically listed, including new tasks and responsibilities that support the overall operation, appearance, and success of the dealership.

Responsibilities

• Wash, clean, and prepare boats and trailers for customer delivery
• Operate power washers and cleaning equipment
• Assist with launching, hauling, loading, and unloading boats
• Move boats, trailers, and equipment throughout the yard
• Safely operate forklifts and other equipment
• Assist with transporting boats and trailers between locations
• Help service technicians prepare units for service
• Assist technicians with projects requiring additional manpower
• Assist with test drives and water testing as needed
• Block, store, and move boats safely
• Prepare trailers for customer delivery
• Organize inventory throughout the yard and storage areas
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Clean and maintain company vehicles, trailers, and equipment
• Maintain both company locations, including buildings, yards, and storage facilities
• Assist with painting, pressure washing, facility repairs, and general maintenance
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance concerns
• Fuel and maintain equipment and company vehicles as needed
• Assist with inventory organization
• Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment when necessary
• Perform snow removal and ice management during winter months
• Assist with grounds maintenance and landscaping as needed
• Support service, sales, and yard personnel as needed
• Assist with seasonal tasks and special projects
• Follow all company safety procedures and operating policies

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license required
• Reliable transportation required
• Ability to work outdoors in all Michigan weather conditions
• Comfortable working around boats, trailers, heavy equipment, mud, water, and changing weather conditions
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials when needed
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to safely operate company vehicles and equipment
• Must maintain a driving record acceptable for company insurance requirements
• Willingness to take direction and assist wherever needed

Preferred Experience

• Forklift experience
• Experience operating power washers
• Experience backing and maneuvering trailers
• Experience towing trailers
• Marine, trailer, construction, landscaping, farming, or equipment operation experience
• Boat handling and launching experience

Schedule

• Full-Time, Year-Round Position
• Primarily Monday through Friday
• Occasional Saturdays required during peak boating season and dealership events
