Marketing and Business Development Coordinator

Location:

Wilmington, DE (Primary); requires occasional travel and presence at all six offices throughout Delaware. Hybrid work schedule after successful 90-day introductory period.

Position Overview:

The Marketing and Business Development Coordinator at Morris James LLP plays a key role in executing the firm’s marketing, branding, event coordination, and digital engagement strategies. This position supports the department’s initiatives to ensure consistent messaging, strong brand positioning, and effective outreach to clients, referral sources, and prospective recruits.

This role collaborates with the Marketing & Business Development Department to implement tactics that enhance visibility and engagement. Working closely with firm leadership, attorneys, and external vendors, the Marketing & Business Development Coordinator is responsible for social media, creating content, executing events, coordinating sponsorships, managing promotional items, and tracking data to support overall department objectives.

This is a full-time position that requires occasional overtime for after-hours and weekend events. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong technical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing & Digital Engagement

  • Manage the firm’s social media presence, including scheduling, posting, and tracking engagement across multiple platforms.
  • Ensure all digital and print marketing materials align with the firm’s branding and messaging strategy.
  • Maintain and update website content, including attorney bios, practice group pages, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Assist in the development of newsletters, blog posts, client alerts, and firm announcements.
  • Support external vendors in executing SEO, SEM, and digital advertising strategies.
  • Track and report on social media engagement, web traffic, and digital campaign performance.

Event Coordination & Sponsorship Management

  • Plan and execute firm-hosted events, networking receptions, CLEs, and community initiatives.
  • Coordinate logistics for external conferences, industry sponsorships, and attorney speaking engagements.
  • Ensure sponsorships are effectively managed and aligned with firm objectives.
  • Handle event invitations, RSVP tracking, vendor communication, and promotional material distribution.
  • Track and report on event attendance, engagement, and ROI metrics.

Branding, Messaging & Attorney Support

  • Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external marketing materials.
  • Support attorneys by preparing presentation materials, event collateral, and digital profiles.
  • Assist with the submission of legal directories, industry rankings, and award nominations.
  • Work with attorneys to enhance their LinkedIn presence and promote firm initiatives.

Promotional Items & Swag Management

  • Oversee firm promotional items, including selection, ordering, and inventory management.
  • Coordinate distribution of promotional materials for events, sponsorships, and recruiting initiatives.
  • Ensure that all branded materials align with firm standards and messaging.

Data Tracking & Reporting

  • Maintain and update marketing performance metrics, sponsorship records, and event data.
  • Support the analysis of social media engagement, website analytics, and campaign success.
  • Generate reports that provide insights into marketing effectiveness, event performance, and recruitment outreach.
  • Ensure all marketing activities are data-driven and aligned with firm objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in marketing, digital communications, branding, or event coordination.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with experience creating content for digital platforms.
  • Experience managing social media platforms, scheduling tools, and website content,
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite (preferred), and Canva.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Event planning and execution experience.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services marketing.
  • Familiarity with legal directories, industry rankings, and awards submissions.
  • Knowledge of SEO, SEM, and digital analytics tools.
