<Job Overview>
Greenleaf Psychological Support Services (GPSS) and Dr. Barbara Ministries / Heart Journey Ministries (www.drbarbaraministries.org) are seeking a creative, highly organized, and self-motivated Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator to serve as the primary steward of marketing, communications, and community engagement for both organizations.

This role leads and manages the marketing arm of GPSS and Dr. Barbara Ministries, working closely with Dr. Barbara and the Director of Administrative Operations, Sarah Miller, to execute strategy, manage systems, and ensure consistent, mission-aligned messaging across platforms.

This is a dynamic role that combines digital marketing, content production, systems management, and in-person community engagement. You will be part of an integrated, values-driven team that believes deeply in self-care, belonging, and equipping, while also requiring strong initiative, ownership, and the ability to manage your own workflow and priorities.

For the right candidate, this role may grow into a full-time position, particularly if you are open to supporting additional client care coordination or clinical communications responsibilities..

<Duties>

Marketing & Community Engagement for GPSS

Develop and manage marketing, outreach, and brand presence for Greenleaf Psychological Support Services.

Create, schedule, and manage social media content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and others as appropriate.

Capture photos and short videos in GPSS offices and at events, including onboarding, staff highlights, trainings, and culture-building moments.

Support newsletters, announcements, referral communications, and practice updates using owner-provided content.

Maintain and update website content, Psychology Today profiles, referral routing sheets, and printed materials.

Design brochures, cards, flyers, and event materials using Canva and coordinate printing and distribution.

Engage in in-person marketing, including visiting referral partners, attending local events, and representing GPSS professionally in the Raleigh–Durham community.

Support marketing and logistics for trainings and events, including First Friday Training Center events.

Marketing & Digital Communications for Dr. Barbara Ministries / Heart Journey Ministries

Manage digital marketing, communications, and audience engagement for Dr. Barbara Ministries / Heart Journey Ministries.

Post and promote podcast episodes three times per week, including graphics, captions, audiograms, email announcements, and social media scheduling.

Create and schedule social media content multiple times per week, including graphics, reels, short-form video, and promotional posts aligned with a faith-based, Judeo-Christian worldview.

Design graphics for podcasts, social media, email campaigns, lead magnets, and digital resources.

Manage and support a 12,000-person email listserv, including drafting, formatting, scheduling, and sending emails.

Use Ontraport and/or Mailchimp to manage email campaigns, tagging, segmentation, automation, and communication workflows.

Create and manage funnels, lead-generation tools, and opt-ins, including free resources, devotionals, guides, and event promotions.

Support promotion of podcasts, speaking engagements, devotionals, courses, events, and digital offerings.

Track engagement and campaign performance and provide basic reporting and insights to leadership.

Potential Expansion to Full-Time (Optional)

For candidates interested in full-time growth, this role may expand to include:
Client Care Coordinator support such as intake assistance, scheduling, and front-desk or clinical communication
Administrative or clinical communications support within GPSS

Expansion would be discussed collaboratively and intentionally

<Experience>

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is both creative and operational, comfortable being visible in the community while also managing systems behind the scenes.

You are likely a strong fit if you have experience with most of the following:

Digital and Platform Skills
Experience using Canva for professional graphics and branding
Social media scheduling and management tools such as Hootsuite
Email marketing platforms including Mailchimp and/or Ontraport
Comfort working with Google Suite, Zoom, and Vimeo
Basic SEO knowledge and experience updating WordPress websites
Experience publishing podcasts and supporting podcast distribution workflows
Ability to do light video editing for social media content (reels, clips, audiograms)
Photography and basic videography skills using phone or camera

Marketing & Communications Skills
Strong copywriting and editing skills with a warm, clear, professional tone
Experience with online and in-person marketing, including community outreach and relationship-building
Ability to manage high-frequency content schedules across multiple platforms
Experience creating funnels, lead magnets, and audience-building tools

Leadership & Work Style
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage your own schedule and priorities
Comfort owning and stewarding a department, specifically the marketing arm of GPSS and Dr. Barbara Ministries
Outgoing and confident in face-to-face interactions, while also able to work independently
Highly collaborative and relational, able to work closely with Dr. Barbara and Sara Miller, our Director of Administrative Operations
Able to balance creativity with follow-through, systems, and deadlines

Ministry experience is a significant bonus, especially experience working with Christian ministries, churches, faith-based nonprofits, or spiritually integrated organizations.

Bonus experience includes
Book publishing or self-publishing
Advanced podcast production or editing
Advanced video editing or content strategy experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
