Marketing Assistant—Business Brokerage
About the Role
You're joining a growing business brokerage practice as a Marketing Assistant, working directly with the lead broker in New York state. We help established business owners sell their companies when they're ready to retire or move on to new opportunities.
This is a high-impact, multi-faceted role where you'll be the operational and creative engine behind seller lead generation, CRM management, and content strategy. You'll work directly with me, a business broker building a practice focused on small business owners in healthcare, home services, med spas, manufacturing, and distribution. This isn't a behind-the-scenes role. You'll be in the office with me, learning how deals happen, and seeing directly how your work translates into meetings, listings, and closed transactions.
Core Responsibilities
Your mission is to feed our sales pipeline with qualified seller prospects. You'll research business owners using DataAxle, Google, LinkedIn, and public databases to build targeted prospect lists with verified owner names, mailing addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers. You'll write handwritten notes on my behalf daily and upload lists into our CRM to make follow-ups.
You'll maintain our CRM with meticulous attention to detail, translating voice notes and conversations into organized, tagged entries that keep deals moving. You'll manage my calendar, prioritize my time, and handle administrative tasks so I stay focused on selling.
Beyond lead generation, you'll own our content calendar. You'll help conceive, organize, and execute short-form video content—one video daily, Monday through Friday—posted across YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook. You'll help coordinate a monthly newsletter and keep our social presence consistent and authentic.
You'll respond to inbound inquiries from sellers and buyers on active listings, take appropriate action, and keep me looped in.
What We're Looking For
You have 1-2 years of professional office experience, ideally in marketing, sales support, or a similar environment where you've managed deliverables and worked with clients or prospects.
You know how to take direction, write a professional email, and show up consistently. You're scrappy, organized, and genuinely curious about learning new systems, especially AI tools and workflows. In fact, you're excited about AI. You see it not as a threat but as a way to multiply your output and eliminate repetitive work. You want to build workflows that make you smarter and faster every month.
You're entrepreneurial by nature. You might want to own a business one day. You thrive on structure and clarity, and you're comfortable adapting as we define processes together.
You could land a cushy role at a big company but you'd rather learn fast and build something real. You want to see the direct line between what you do and what happens.
Compensation
$21 / hour. No traditional benefits. We compensate generously through performance bonuses tied to meetings booked, deals closed, and other KPIs we'll establish together. As I close deals, you bonus out. Your upside grows with the business.
The Details
Monday through Thursday in-office in Port Chester, New York. Friday is flexible, remote or in-office is your choice. You'll be working directly with me, seeing deals in real time, and learning how a brokerage actually operates.
