The Bender Jewish Community Center in Rockville, Maryland is a premier community center at the heart of Jewish life in Montgomery County, operating a full-scale health and fitness center, pre-school, day camp and variety of education and arts programs.

Core Responsibilities:
Social Media & Digital Presence

Manage the Bender JCC’s social media channels, ensuring consistent voice, brand alignment, and community engagement.

Develop and execute short- and long-term content calendars, balancing social, website, and email campaigns.

Plan, launch, and optimize organic and paid campaigns across social platforms, tracking performance and ROI.

Monitor trends, engage with audiences, and adapt strategies to maximize reach and impact.
Content Creation & Storytelling

Write, edit, and publish engaging content for digital platforms, including social posts, blogs, newsletters, and website updates.

Capture and curate multimedia content (photos, videos, reels) to showcase programs and community stories.

Collaborate with internal teams to translate programs, initiatives, and events into compelling digital campaigns.
Graphic Design & Creative Production

Design visually appealing assets for digital and some print media (social graphics, flyers, signage, brochures, email templates, etc.).

Ensure creative consistency across all materials in line with the Bender JCC’s branding and identity standards.

Support video editing, photography, and other multimedia production as needed to enhance campaigns.

Partner with marketing staff to brainstorm and execute integrated campaigns across multiple channels.

Support advertising and promotional efforts, including print, digital, and community outreach.

Assist with event marketing, signage, and onsite creative needs.

Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and agencies when required.

Identify opportunities for growth and new creative approaches to engage target audiences.

You understand the role of design in marketing strategy and can support multimedia projects including photography, video, and motion graphics.

You should have:

Professional experience (2–4 years) in social media management, digital marketing, content creation, or graphic design.

A strong design toolkit, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro or similar).

Experience creating engaging social content across multiple platforms, with a clear understanding of brand voice and audience engagement.

A general understanding of SEO and how to use content to reach audiences through organic search.

Hands-on experience with marketing and communications tools such as WordPress, Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social (or similar), Campaign Monitor (or other email platforms), and project management tools.

Familiarity with analytics platforms including GA4, Google Tag Manager, Salesforce, and Meta Business Suite, with the ability to track and interpret performance data.

Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Comfort working with technology stacks in a virtual environment (MS Office, Google Suite, Slack, Zoom).

Photography, videography, and/or editing, with the ability to capture and produce multimedia content to enhance campaigns.

Work on weekends (Sundays) as required.

Ability to perform additional duties and projects as assigned to support the success of the marketing team and the organization.

Knowledge of Jewish communal life, along with sensitivity to working in a diverse, values-driven community environment, strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time exempt position, with an annual salary between $45,000 - $55,000, commensurate with experience. The Bender JCC provides a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision benefits, and a flexible working environment.
