Position Description

ThrottleNet is seeking an early-career Marketing & Business Development Assistant to play a pivotal role in powering our growth across marketing, sales, and business development.
This role is a dynamic blend of creative and analytical responsibilities, split across three core areas:
- 50% Marketing Support — Social media management, content creation, campaign execution, and brand storytelling.
- 30% Business Development Support — Research, data entry, auditing, reporting, and opportunity development.
- 20% Sales & Administrative Support — Client coordination, proposal assistance, CRM maintenance, and meeting facilitation.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this individual will work closely with the Marketing Coordinator, Sales & Business Development Associate, and Sales Director to ensure cohesive execution across all departments. You will be empowered to take initiative, contribute fresh ideas, and grow alongside a passionate and collaborative team.
This is a hybrid-friendly office position with a flexible work schedule and work-from-home opportunities. Travel requirements are minimal (less than 5%).
Essential Functions Marketing (50%)
Social Media Management & Content Creation
- Own and manage ThrottleNet’s social media presence across LinkedIn, Facebook, Google My Business, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Develop and schedule engaging content, including posts, stories, reels, and short-form video.
- Monitor community engagement, respond to comments, and build audience relationships.
- Track social media analytics and provide regular performance reports with actionable insights.
- Support paid social and digital advertising campaigns.
- Capture and edit photos and videos for use across social and digital channels.
Content Creation, Blogging & SEO
- Write and edit compelling content for emails, blog posts, web pages, and marketing collateral.
- Publish and manage blog posts for the company website, ensuring timely and consistent content delivery.
- Optimize content for search engines using foundational SEO best practices, including keyword research, meta descriptions, internal linking, and on-page structure.
- Explore and apply AI tools such as Claude, Google Gemini, custom AI tools, and Microsoft Copilot to enhance content creation, campaign efficiency, and marketing analytics.
- Coordinate direct mail and email outreach campaigns using Constant Contact.
- Edit and proofread presentations, proposals, and marketing materials for accuracy and brand consistency.
- Help maintain and update website content using WordPress.
Project Management Support
- Assist in managing marketing project timelines, deliverables, and team coordination.
- Use project management tools to track campaign milestones and ensure on-time delivery.
- Support cross-departmental collaboration by facilitating communication and documentation.
- Assist in organizing and producing client-facing events such as webinars, trade shows, and networking events.
Business Development Support (30%)
Re-Engagement & Outreach
- Coordinate re-engagement outreach campaigns targeting lost leads and dormant contacts.
- Monitor outreach engagement and coordinate timely follow-up communications.
- Assist in maintaining ongoing relationships with current clients and contacts.
Data Entry, Auditing & Reporting
- Perform accurate and timely data entry into the CRM and other business systems.
- Conduct regular audits of CRM data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
- Audit automated reports of pipeline activity, campaign performance, and lead conversions.
- Support multi-attribution tracking and improve lead source accuracy.
Research & Opportunity Development
- Identify and track industry events, conferences, and speaking opportunities.
- Contribute insights and research findings to inform strategy discussions with the Director of Marketing and Sales Director.
Sales & Administrative Support (20%)
Client & Sales Coordination
- Handle initial client inquiries and coordinate scheduling and logistics for the sales team.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and customer service in all client interactions.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining sales collateral, templates, and marketing materials.
Administrative & Cross-Functional Support
- Provide general administrative support for ad-hoc business development initiatives and team projects.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by the Marketing Director, Sales Director, or leadership team.
- Actively participate in team meetings, contributing updates, ideas, and process improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
- 1-3 years of professional experience in marketing, client engagement, business development, or a related field — early-career candidates with a strong mix of full-time and internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Tenacious, and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Comfortable with data entry, CRM management, and basic reporting.
- Strong project management instincts with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Curiosity and interest in technology and IT topics.
Preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
- Experience in a client engagement, account management, or customer-facing professional role — comfort building relationships and managing client communications is a meaningful plus.
- Interest in or experience with AI/ SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Claude, Google Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot for content creation, research, and marketing analytics.
- Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GA4) and/or Google Ads Search Certification preferred; experience using data to drive content and campaign decisions is a strong plus.
- Basic graphic design skills using tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or Adobe Creative Suite
- HubSpot Inbound Certification or hands-on experience with HubSpot, Salesforce, or ConnectWise is a strong differentiator.
- Photography, videography, and/or video editing skills.
- Experience writing press releases, marketing collateral, or editorial content — comfort with AP style or journalistic writing is a plus.
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Trello).
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp).
- Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related field — bonus points for a Digital Marketing certificate or Minor in Business.
