The Women’s Business Council – Southwest (WBCS) seeks a visionary Marketing & Communications Manager to lead the strategic development and execution of marketing initiatives that amplify our mission, strengthen our brand, and drive measurable engagement with our members, corporate partners, and the broader business community.

This role serves as the organization’s driving force of marketing and communications strategy- ensuring cohesive messaging, brand consistency, and high-impact campaigns across multiple channels. The Manager will oversee the creation and delivery of compelling content across print, digital, and live-event platforms, positioning WBCS as a leader in advancing women-owned businesses.

Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated knowledge and experience in industries and ecosystems related to women-owned businesses, supplier diversity and procurement, innovation, small business development, and entrepreneurial communities.

The ideal candidate is a results-oriented strategist who blends creativity with analytical rigor, thrives in a collaborative yet fast-paced environment, and is eager to leverage marketing as a growth engine for membership, sponsorship, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

· Lead the annual marketing planning process, setting measurable goals, campaign calendars, and performance benchmarks that align with WBCS’s strategic objectives.

· Propose and implement communication and marketing strategies to achieve annual and multi-year goals for increased outreach, membership, and engagement.

· Serve as the lead brand steward, ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all channels and touchpoints.

· Prepare and monitor the organizational marketing budget, providing projections regularly.

· Develop and maintain organized systems for project management, asset storage, campaign timelines, and reporting.

Campaign & Content Development

· Research, write, edit, and publish information that effectively supports WBCS marketing and communications goals.

· Direct the creation of high-quality, mission-driven content for digital, print, and live platforms—including newsletters, press releases, web copy, and social media.

· Develop and manage content for all organizational platforms, including website, email, and social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and emerging platforms such as Threads and TikTok).

· Create and execute targeted campaigns to generate qualified membership leads through events, website forms, prospect webinars, and email outreach.

· Actively pitch story ideas to local, regional, and national media outlets as appropriate.

Digital & Data-Driven Marketing

· Assist with the implementation and optimization of the organization’s upcoming new CRM system, ensuring effective data collection, segmentation, conversion, and maintenance.

· Manage paid and organic digital campaigns, leveraging analytics to improve reach, engagement, and ROI.

· Track, measure, and report on the effectiveness of communication programs, marketing campaigns, and events, using insights to refine future initiatives.

· Use data to continuously test and improve campaign performance, audience segmentation, and user engagement across all channels.

Stakeholder Engagement

· Partner with WBCS leadership to highlight organizational impact, industry leadership, and programming through targeted storytelling.

· Recruit, manage, and lead the Marketing Committee to provide strategic insight, campaign support, and community amplification.

· Collaborate across departments to integrate marketing into all aspects of organizational growth, from sponsorships to event attendance.

Required Education/Background

· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

· Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in a marketing or communications role.

· Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory/leadership position.

Required Business Competencies and Experience

· Demonstrated expertise across a broad range of marketing roles.

· Experience in business-to-business and/or nonprofit marketing.

· Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva (or similar).

· Experience with CRM, email, and marketing platforms such as ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, FileMaker, MailChimp, and Stova.

· Skilled in managing organizational social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, and emerging platforms), including short-form video content.

· Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social).

· Experience with project management tools such as Asana, Trello, or Monday.com.

· Experience in running paid advertising campaigns using Meta Ads Manager or similar platforms.

· Knowledge of basic HTML and social media platforms.

· Ability to track, analyze, and report analytics, preferably with Google Analytics 4.

· Use data to continuously test and improve campaign performance, audience segmentation, and user engagement across all channels.

· Strong analytical skills and adept at interpreting strategic vision into an operational model.

· Exceptional oral, written, and persuasive communication skills (a writing sample may be required).

· Experience with WordPress and Drupal for general website editing, maintenance, and online directories.

· Experience with media relations, including press release submissions and story pitching.

· Proven success managing and growing email newsletters with knowledge of performance benchmarks (e.g., open rate, click rate).

· Ability to create, execute, and optimize paid and organic social media campaigns, with the ability to report performance metrics and ROI.

Preferred Qualifications

· 5–8 years in a comparable role with nonprofit, membership-based, or entrepreneurial organizations.

· Familiarity with supplier diversity, procurement, and women-owned business ecosystems.

· Experience managing teams, volunteers, and committees.

· Advanced knowledge of FileMaker Pro and experience with CRM integrations.

· Expertise in Drupal and WordPress for website maintenance, edits, and online directories.

Equipment and Systems/Programs Utilized

· Personal computers with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.

· FileMaker Pro.

· Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, and InDesign.

· Internet Explorer.

· Drupal, WordPress.

· ActiveCampaign, Canva, MailChimp, Stova.

· Social media management and advertising platforms such as Sprout Social and Meta Ads Manager.
