JOB TITLE: Marketing & Communications Specialist

SUPERVISOR: Director, Marketing & Member Engagement

FLSA: Full time, Hourly Non-Exempt

OVERVIEW:
The Marketing Specialist position supports the Chamber’s marketing plan through creation, management, and measurement of content and campaigns. This position oversees social media, website updates, email marketing, and content development to increase awareness, engagement, and membership growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Develop and execute digital campaigns across social media, email, and web platforms to promote chamber initiatives and events.
  • Manage day-to-day content publishing on LinkedIn and Facebook.
  • Assist in planning, writing, and scheduling of e-newsletters, announcements, and automated campaigns.
  • Distribute online articles and media releases.
  • Shoot, and edit video content for social media, website, and events.
  • Coordinate interviews, scripts, and scheduling for video features.
  • Maintain the Chamber’s video and photography archives.
  • Maintain and update Chamber websites to ensure current, relevant, and accurate content.
  • Implement SEO best practices and track analytics for performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Design & Brand Specialist on visuals and layouts.
  • Monitor and approve submitted member content to ensure brand and message alignment.
  • Track and report performance metrics for web, email, and social campaigns.
  • Use insights to improve engagement, retention, and digital ROI.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal contributors for FOCUS Magazine and Livability Magazine, including content creation, submission, proofing, and approvals.
  • Support content development for the annual meeting and other major chamber events.

Coordinate with the Director, Marketing & Communication to create and execute the annual marketing plan.

Ensure consistent Chamber voice and style across all communication platforms.

Support chamber’s membership team in member engagement and new member development.

Manage customer, sponsor and organization’s expectations with clear and persuasive communication.

Maintain database information for assigned events and activities. Support CRM-based segmentation, automation, and membership communication workflows.

Assess objectives and determine most cost-effective means to deliver results.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-Four years related work experience, Associate’s/Technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, experience creating content for multiple digital channels.
  • Computer skills including proficiency with MS office suite, experience with Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and major social media platforms & familiarity with Google Analytics and Premiere Pro/Final Cut Pro.
  • Highly organized and detailed orientated. Able to juggle multiple tasks at once.
  • Pro-active in taking initiative to execute tasks and problem solver- able to identify issues early and work to address.
  • Flexible team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done; adaptable and enjoys a challenge.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:

Local travel to off-site events is necessary on occasion. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
