SUMMARY:
The Marketing & Communications Supervisor initiates and continues two-way communication with District residents and visitors through a variety of strategies to enhance their awareness and enjoyment of parks and programs.
Goals and Objectives
- Provide marketing and communications support that contributes to achieving 80% or greater program and activity capacity.
- Implement a comprehensive communications and marketing plan.
- Stay current with communication strategies.
- Be an industry leader in customer satisfaction and communication.
- Exceed customer service expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Produce enticing print and electronic promotional materials.
- Actively use social media outlets to reach and hear from residents and participants.
- Manage social media content calendar.
- Plan, implement and evaluate a variety of promotional tools and channels.
- Earn positive promotion from outside sources.
- Ensure brand consistency for the organization.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, visitors and participants.
- Cooperate and collaborate with all members of park district staff.
Key Technical Skills and Knowledge Required
- Knowledge of social media uses, techniques and options.
- Knowledge of graphic design software and techniques.
- Knowledge of branding principles.
- Knowledge of website content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with spoken and written word.
- Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Customer service techniques and systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design or a related field.
- Proficient in Windows-based computer systems.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work well with others and as part of a team.
- Ability to obtain CPR, AED and First Aid certification.
- Be able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test, physical examination and background screen.
- Be insurable by park district insurance to operate vehicles.
