This is a Christian, faith-based position. Our content, mission, and messaging are explicitly rooted in a Judeo-Christian worldview, Scripture, and spiritual formation.

Position Summary

Dr. Barbara Ministries / Heart Journey Ministries is seeking a creative, organized, and self-motivated Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator to steward the ministry’s marketing, communications, and digital outreach, while also supporting marketing efforts for Greenleaf Psychological Support Services, our closely aligned mental health practice.

This role is ideal for someone who feels called to Christian ministry and is also skilled in digital marketing, content creation, systems, and community engagement. You will manage high-frequency content, digital platforms, and outreach while working closely with Dr. Barbara and, on the Greenleaf side, the Director of Administrative Operations.

This role is part of an integrated, relational team that values self-care, belonging, and equipping. At the same time, the role requires strong initiative, follow-through, and the ability to manage your own schedule and responsibilities.

For candidates who are open to additional administrative or client-care-related support, this role may grow into a full-time position with paid time off.

Key Responsibilities

Dr. Barbara Ministries / Heart Journey Ministries

  • Manage marketing, communications, and audience engagement for the ministry across platforms.
  • Post and promote podcast episodes three times per week, including creating graphics, captions, audiograms, email announcements, and social media scheduling.
  • Create and schedule social media content multiple times per week, including graphics, reels, short-form video, and promotional posts aligned with Christian faith-based messaging.
  • Design graphics for podcasts, social media, email campaigns, lead magnets, devotionals, and digital resources.
  • Manage and support a 12,000-person email list, including drafting, formatting, scheduling, and sending communications.
  • Use Ontraport and/or Mailchimp to manage email campaigns, segmentation, tagging, automation, and funnels.
  • Create and manage lead-generation tools and funnels, including opt-ins, free resources, guides, and event promotions.
  • Support promotion of ministry offerings such as podcasts, speaking engagements, courses, devotionals, events, and resources.
  • Track engagement metrics and provide basic reporting and insights.

Greenleaf Psychological Support Services Marketing Support

  • Support marketing and community engagement for Greenleaf Psychological Support Services.
  • Create and schedule social media content and announcements as needed.
  • Capture photos and short videos in-office and at events for marketing and recruiting.
  • Support newsletters, referral communications, and updates using provided content.
  • Maintain and update website content, Psychology Today profiles, and printed marketing materials.
  • Assist with in-person community marketing and events in the Raleigh–Durham area.

Optional Expansion to Full-Time

For the right candidate, this role may expand to full time to include:
Administrative support for the ministry
Client care coordination or clinical communications support for Greenleaf

This expansion would be discussed collaboratively and intentionally and may include paid time off as a benefit.
