Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position located in Towson, MD.
The Marketing & Community Engagement Manager will primarily work to grow our catering business while strengthening THB’s presence in the communities we serve. This role will focus on building relationships with local businesses and organizations, generating catering opportunities, and ensuring THB maintains a strong and visible presence in the community. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Brand, this position will lead grassroots marketing initiatives that drive catering orders and guest engagement across our stores. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, energetic, relationship-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where marketing, sales, and community involvement intersect. This role will serve as a brand ambassador for THB, representing the brand at community events, developing partnerships with local organizations, managing donation and fundraiser initiatives, and identifying opportunities that drive awareness and sales for our stores.
Responsibilities
Catering Sales & Business Development
- Drive catering sales growth through community outreach and relationship building with local businesses, offices, schools, hospitals, and community organizations to secure catering orders for each restaurant location.
- Organize and execute community bagel drops and sampling programs at local businesses and organizations to introduce THB catering offerings.
- Identify new opportunities to grow catering through partnerships, events, and targeted outreach.
- Track and report on catering leads, outreach activities, and sales performance.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Serve as THB’s primary community liaison, building strong relationships with local organizations and partners.
- Oversee and coordinate in-store fundraising events that support local organizations while driving store traffic.
- Manage and respond to community donation requests.
Event Marketing & Brand Activation
- Plan, coordinate, and execute community marketing events and brand activations, including: identifying opportunities, securing event participation, coordinating staffing, ordering food, swag, and promotional materials needed, execute the events onsite.
- Coach and support team members working events to ensure strong brand representation.
- Ensure all event logistics and materials are organized and aligned with brand standards.
Local Store Marketing Support
- Work with General Managers to develop and execute monthly local store marketing plans.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to identify traffic-driving opportunities within each store’s trade area.
- Support the Director of Marketing with grassroots marketing initiatives and local campaigns.
- Assist with marketing promotions, local partnerships, and activations.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain and analyze data related to: guest feedback, community engagement, donation requests, fundraisers, catering outreach, and leads.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports summarizing marketing activities and results.
- Identify insights and opportunities to improve engagement and drive sales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field required.
- 3+ years of marketing experience, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
- Community marketing experience strongly preferred.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
- Energetic and enthusiastic about representing the brand in the community.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work nontraditional hours, including nights and weekends, to support events and community activities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required).
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace applications, including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive.
Base Salary Range
$60,000 - $70,000
Actual compensation packages are determined by various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and performance during the interview process.
