Marketing & Content Creation Assistant (Part-Time | Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid (Mostly Remote + On-Site Content Days)

Hours: Approx. 10 hours/week (flexible — some weeks lighter, some heavier)

Schedule: Flexible Schedule! Must be available evenings and weekends occasionally (no more than once/week)

We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented Marketing & Content Creation Assistant to support a local marketing agency serving local Asheville clients.

This role is perfect for a college student, intern, or entry-level creative who understands social media deeply and wants hands-on experience across content creation, ads, strategy, and marketing operations.

You’ll work with the owner to capture content on-site, assist with marketing execution, and support backend admin tasks. This role requires precision and the ability to follow specific creative direction. You will be a 1099 Independent Contractor, but the position is ongoing, not temporary. We’re looking for someone to join our women-led team who is knowledgeable, fun, efficient, passionate, easy to work with, and excited about supporting local Asheville businesses.

Responsibilities: Task lists will vary from week to week based on client needs, campaign timelines, and events. The responsibilities outlined below represent the full scope of what this role may include; however, you will not be expected to perform all of these tasks every week. Work will be assigned based on current priorities, and some weeks may focus more heavily on content creation, while others may involve administrative or marketing support.

Content Creation:

- Capture high-quality video and photo content on-site at client locations

- Follow assigned prompts, storyboards, and shot lists

- Create engaging short-form video clips for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts

- Photograph events, live music, food & beverage, beauty services, and community experiences

- Be comfortable interacting with clients and customers during content capture

Light Editing:

- Basic editing in CapCut

- Photo editing in Lightroom

- Collateral Design in Canva or Adobe

Social Media Support:

- Assist with scheduling and posting if needed

- Help with Meta Business Suite

- Support Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, (LinkedIn + YouTube are a plus)

- Stay current on trends, platform updates, and best practices

Advertising Support:

- Assist with Facebook and Google Ads setup and monitoring

- Pull basic analytics reports

- Help optimize campaigns over time

Administrative & Marketing Support:

- Help manage Google Workspace

- Assist with marketing operations and organization

- Support with copywriting and content writing

- General marketing assistant tasks

- Design digital assets and print collateral using Canva or Adobe programs

Required Equipment:

- Mac computer or laptop

- Camera capable of recording 4K video

- Lens (f/1.4 preferred for low-light environments)

- iPhone

- Microphones for camera or phone are a plus

- Reliable transportation

Skills & Qualifications:

- Familiar with Google Workspace

- Comfortable using Meta Business Suite

- Working knowledge of Google Ads & Analytics

- Canva experience

- Lightroom & CapCut experience

- Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok & LinkedIn

- Interest/basic understanding in social media strategy and content trends

- Strong attention to detail

- Creative eye for content composition

- Comfortable in busy environments (events, live music, restaurants, salons)

- Confident, social, and personable — content creation often requires interacting with people

Bonus Skills:

- Web design experience

- YouTube management

- Graphic Design

- Interest in beauty, live music, food & beverage, or community events

Important:

This role requires following specific creative direction. While creativity is encouraged, many tasks must be executed precisely according to brand standards and campaign goals.
