Marketing Lead — T&J Travel Centers

Mission of the Role
Design and execute T&J’s marketing engine — from community outreach to digital campaigns — to grow brand awareness, attract A-Players, and increase foot traffic through rapid, test-measure-learn guerrilla marketing.
What You’ll Do
You’ll build T&J’s marketing function from the ground up — shaping our brand, strengthening our presence in the community, elevating our employer brand, and creating engaging content that tells the T&J story with authenticity and impact. Your work will directly support our goals of attracting great people, increasing foot traffic, and deepening our connection with the communities we serve.
Your success will be measured by how well you accomplish the following:
Community Engagement & Presence
Plan and launch one high-impact community event each month, creating meaningful touchpoints that increase awareness and guest engagement.
Weekly Business Outreach
Build consistent visibility by visiting at least three local businesses per week, forging relationships with schools, churches, civic groups, and community partners.
Applicant Growth & Employer Brand
Increase the flow of qualified applicants by 300% through compelling employer-brand storytelling and targeted recruiting campaigns.
Build the T&J Story Library
Develop a rich content library of videos, photos, articles, customer stories, and team stories that bring our brand and culture to life.
Monthly Test–Measure–Learn Campaigns
Design and execute monthly marketing campaigns, analyze their effectiveness, and deliver clear reports to leadership with learnings and next steps for continuous improvement.
Local Store Marketing Kits
Create and maintain practical marketing and signage kits for General Managers to support their local store marketing efforts and ensure brand consistency.
T&J Merch Development & Management
Develop and launch fresh, on-brand merchandise collections twice per year, maintaining organized inventory and vendor relationships to support community presence and brand visibility.
