The Opportunity

Tired of being a cog in the corporate machine? Ready to ditch the scheduled grind and office politics? TalkLPnews is the newest, high-growth division of Calibration—and we're looking for a Marketing Coordinator who wants to build something, not just show up.

This isn't a typical 9-to-5. We're a lean, hungry team serving the loss prevention and retail security industry with cutting-edge journalism, video production, and industry-leading conferences. You'll have your hands in everything—from daily content curation and advertising support to helping produce our flagship APEX conference in Nashville and an exclusive reception in New York City.

If you've spent a year or two in the corporate world and realized you want more autonomy, more impact, and way more variety in your day-to-day, this is your shot. We're hybrid (2-3 days in our Roswell office to start), with competitive compensation, ultimate flexibility, and the kind of travel that actually matters—not just another conference center in a random city.

Best part? Massive growth potential. This role can evolve into whatever you make of it.

What You'll Actually Do

Content & Editorial

  • Own the daily news cycle: Research and curate retail and loss prevention content from hundreds of sources and Google Alerts for our daily Retail Rundown newsletter
  • Build and manage our TalkLP app, keeping tabs updated and content fresh
  • Create the weekly Restaurant Rundown within our platform
  • Track industry moves: Research job appointments and promotions on LinkedIn and report them out
  • Write articles, press releases, and social content as needed
  • Produce quarterly and annual retail crime reports with research and data compilation
  • Manage our TalkLP Podcast production: episode graphics, social snippets, articles, the whole deal

Marketing & Advertising

  • Work directly with advertisers and vendors to maximize their exposure through banner placements, e-blasts, press releases, and spotlights
  • Support our advertising sales team with follow-up for both the Retail Rundown and Restaurant Rundown
  • Pull stats and create reports for advertisers showing views, opens, clicks, and ROI
  • Coordinate special digital publications and reports with advertisers
  • Manage marketing calendars for clients, including graphic coordination and distribution
  • Own our publishing calendar and oversee distribution for vendor blasts and industry partners

Digital & Social

  • Own TalkLPnews social strategy across LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and launch our Reddit presence
  • Promote each edition of the Retail Rundown newsletter with compelling social content
  • Manage our YouTube presence and work with SEO resources to grow our reach
  • Oversee the visual presentation of talklpnews.com using our website builder platform

Event Management

  • Help produce TalkLPnews events including our flagship APEX conference in Nashville and an exclusive reception in New York City
  • Coordinate trade show presence and logistics
  • Update event-specific websites and manage event marketing

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in marketing, journalism, or communications)
  • 1-2+ years of marketing experience—could be corporate, agency, startup, or a mix
  • Local to Atlanta (this is a hybrid role: 2-3 days/week in the office)
  • Software skills: Canva, HubSpot, Constant Contact (or email marketing tools), Microsoft Office, Acrobat, and basic Photoshop
  • Basic HTML and graphic design skills (you'll use them daily)
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball

Nice-to-Haves

  • Knowledge of the retail or loss prevention industry (but not required—we can teach you)
  • Experience with event coordination or sales support

Success Persona: Who Thrives Here

You're a multi-tasker who doesn't need someone looking over your shoulder. You see a problem and you solve it. You're creative, resourceful, and comfortable pivoting when priorities shift (because they will).

You work hard, but you also value flexibility. You want to contribute to a lean team where your ideas actually matter and your work has immediate impact. You're not precious about job titles or task ownership—if something needs to get done, you roll up your sleeves.

You're hungry. Maybe you've been in a corporate role and realized you're capable of way more than what they're letting you do. You want to grow fast, learn constantly, and build something that feels like yours.

You're a self-starter with a solutions mindset. When obstacles pop up, you figure it out. You don't wait for permission to be excellent.

If this sounds like you, we should talk. This role has massive growth potential for the right person—whether that's moving into editorial, business development, or something we haven't even thought of yet.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation (1099 independent contractor position)
  • Ultimate flexibility—work hard during core collaboration hours, but you set your schedule
  • Hybrid setup: 2-3 days/week in our Roswell, GA office (less once trained)
  • Cool travel: APEX conference in Nashville, NYC reception, and trade shows that actually matter
  • Massive growth potential in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
  • The chance to help build the leading media brand in the loss prevention industry

Ready to escape the corporate grind and do work that matters?

Send your resume and a quick note about why you're the right fit. No cover letter template -- just tell us why this opportunity excites you and what you'd bring to the table.
