Marketing Coordinator

Title: Marketing Coordinator, Beyond Sports

Location: Remote* (US-Based)

*This role is fully remote, but we prefer you are based in Ohio, particularly in the Dayton, Columbus, or Cincinnati area. Additionally, you may be expected to travel on occasion as part of your responsibilities.

Role Description

We are looking for a creative force that translates the magic of global sports education into compelling stories. As our Marketing Coordinator, you will serve as our creative engine, painting a vibrant picture of the Beyond Sports experience to the outside world. We need someone who is deeply aligned with our mission to help student-athletes experience life-changing personal growth through international travel.

This role is about more than marketing. It’s about connection. In an industry built on trust and relationships, how we communicate matters. You’ll help ensure that who we are, what we do, and why we do it comes through clearly and authentically in everything we create.

The selected candidate will report directly to the Head of Programs at Beyond Sports, and will be a member of the Beyond Sports team. The candidate will also have a “dotted line” reporting relationship to the Executive Director of Marketing at Terra Education, and be a member of the cross-functional Terra Marketing Team in a secondary capacity. The Marketing Coordinator will collaborate with Terra Marketing for support on key projects and ongoing tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling digital and print materials that clearly communicate the value of Beyond Sports while keeping our brand fresh, relevant, and human.
  • Manage website updates and continuously prioritize the user experience at every stage of the journey.
  • Take full ownership of our email marketing and social media strategies by developing content calendars, creating compelling content, and leveraging both email and social media as relationship-building tools.
  • Serve as an internal editor and writing resource, helping team members refine and polish their communications and program materials to ensure a consistent brand voice.
  • Help document our programs by traveling to programs and/or coordinating freelance creatives to capture the Beyond Sports experience.
  • Identify and propose creative ways to expand our reach, including paid media, sponsorships, and more.
  • Organize and optimize our content archive, ensuring photos, videos, and assets are easy for you and the team to access and use.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Emerging Media, or related field.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • A solid understanding of design principles and how they influence storytelling and user experience
  • Familiarity with tools like Wix, Canva, Mailchimp, and Google Workspace
  • Experience executing content and engagement via email and social media
  • Experience as a student-athlete and/or coach, strongly preferred
  • Experience with international travel, strongly preferred
