TITLE: Marketing Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Development
REPORTS TO: VP, Development
TYPE: Full-time (40 hours/week), non-exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Marketing Coordinator generates compelling and creative content to further the mission of Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena (BGCP) and enhance the visibility and engagement of our programs and services. This role involves brand messaging, storytelling, creating content for social media, website, blog, and newsletters, writing and editing, supporting graphic design projects, supporting promotional events, and fostering relationships with community partners and media. By effectively communicating our mission and successes, the Marketing Coordinator will play a crucial role in attracting new members, volunteers, and donors, ultimately supporting the growth and impact of our Club in the community.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)
● Implement marketing strategies to promote Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena's brand, programs and events, in close coordination with BGCP’s marketing consultants and various BGCP teams and departments
● Create content for social media platforms, website, monthly email newsletters, and press releases
● Develop and follow a comprehensive calendar for regularly capturing and curating content from various Club locations, events, and programs
● Develop, maintain, and update an annual comprehensive marketing plan with deliverables
● Execute marketing and brand awareness campaigns to increase community awareness of Club programs and engagement
● Ensure all communications accurately reflect BGCP’s brand identity and values; serve as the designated monitor of brand standards
● Create templates and design marketing materials, such as flyers, brochures, and posters, to support Club initiatives
● Update the Club’s style guide to ensure consistent look and feel of Club communications across the organization
● Create engaging and informative communications to Club parents, including monthly one-sheets and e-mail newsletters, and special communications as needed.
● Support the Director of Community Development and Partnerships in planning and managing promotional events and outreach activities to attract new members and donors
● Collaborate with program staff to highlight Club activities and successes at a regular cadence
● Effectively communicate with BGCP’s target audiences, including current and prospective parents, youth and teens, school leaders and educators, institutional and individual donors, and community leaders and members
● Proactively develop ways to strengthen the Club’s brand identity in the greater Pasadena market
● Research trends and developments in marketing across digital and other media platforms
● Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing efforts and adjust strategies as needed
● Build and maintain relationships with local media, community partners, and stakeholders
● Support the advancement and implementation of BGCP’s Strategic Plan goals
● Other duties as assigned
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff and Club members to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines/instructions; instruct, and advise/counsel
External: Maintain contact with members, families, alumni, community leaders, youth-serving professionals, other Clubs, media contacts, vendors, consultants, organizations and others to achieve program goals and objectives, manage costs, share information and resolve problems
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED
● College degree or equivalent in marketing, communications, or public relations
● Two to three years of experience in marketing and public relations, including media relations
● Understanding of youth development practices, and appreciation of and commitment to BGCP’s mission and objectives
● Strong ability to create engaging content for various social media platforms
● Superior writing, editing and verbal communications skills
● Organized, with strong ability to execute on marketing plans and maintain an editorial calendar
● Photography, videography, and website design/maintenance skills
● Eye for graphic design and ability to use design platforms (i.e., Canva, Adobe InDesign, others) to create appealing designs
● Strong project management, administrative, and organizational skills
● Knowledge of usual office computer applications
● Able to manage multiple priorities
● Strong attention to detail
● Ability to work with diverse populations with maturity and flexibility
● CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (Club will supply)
● Ability to maintain a positive attitude with members, staff, families, and other Club stakeholders
● Excellent interpersonal communication skills
● Ability to project a positive image of Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena, and interact professionally with members, parents, volunteers, and others
● Ability to exchange accurate information
● Sense of humor
● Must maintain confidentiality at all times
● Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
● Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, lift and walk 75% of the time
● Must be able to function well in a loud and happy work environment
● Must operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine and printer

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
