Marketing Coordinator (Part-Time to Full-Time)
Location: Hybrid (Remote + Travel to MD/VA stores)
Job Type: Part-Time (Approx. 20 hours/week) with the path to Full-Time
The Kako Claw Difference
At Kako Claw (pronounced Kah-koh, rhymes with taco), we’ve reimagined the claw machine experience. We aren’t a dimly lit, outdated arcade—we’re a premium, interactive retail concept built around fun, fairness, and human connection.
The Role at a Glance
- Reports To: Executive Team
- Primary Focus: Managing the corporate marketing calendar and project management
- Secondary Focus: Social media content capture and simple graphic design for daily posts
- Location: Must be local to the DMV to visit our MD and VA locations
- Growth: Starting at ~20 hours/week, designed to grow into a full-time role
About the Role
Kako Claw is growing, and we are looking for a highly organized and creative Marketing Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you will report directly to the executive team and act as the engine behind our marketing strategy—managing our promotional calendar, keeping projects on track, and ensuring our day-to-day social media is active and engaging.
We don't want someone who just pushes out basic "20% more tokens" discounts. We want a strategic thinker who can brainstorm thoughtful, fun campaigns outside of major holidays (like "Kako Tuesday" and more!) and oversee them from idea to execution. While we have a dedicated designer for major brand assets, you will be responsible for creating simple, on-brand graphics for our regular social media posts.
Because our marketing needs to reflect the real-life energy of our arcades, this is a hybrid role. You will work remotely, but you must be local to the DMV to regularly visit our Maryland and Virginia locations to understand the store vibe and capture organic content (photos/videos) for our social channels.
What You Will Do
- Marketing Strategy and Calendar: Actively build out and manage our corporate marketing calendar, ensuring a steady stream of engaging promotions year-round.
- Project Management: Coordinate marketing initiatives and ensure campaigns launch smoothly and on time.
- Creative Campaigning: Brainstorm fun, unique promotions that go beyond standard holiday sales to genuinely engage our community.
- Social Media and Content Capture: Regularly visit our MD and VA locations to capture photos and videos for our social channels, showcasing the real Kako Claw experience.
- Light Graphic Design: Create simple, eye-catching graphics for daily social media posts, announcements, and smaller initiatives.
- Grow and Evolve With Us: Take on new marketing projects as they arise. Because we are a growing company, your primary responsibilities will evolve based on business needs, as well as your own unique passions and strengths. Our goal is for this role to expand into a full-time position!
What We Are Looking For
- Age Requirement: Must be 18+ years of age.
- A Fan of Fun: Whether you love anime, gaming, Pokémon, or just cute plushies, you "get" our prize culture and know how to translate that excitement into engaging marketing campaigns.
- Driven by Values: You are ready to bring our four Core Values—Customer Centricity, Teamwork and Support, Intentionality and Excellence, and Kindness and Inclusivity—into every project you touch.
- Marketing and Project Management Skills: You are highly organized, understand how to map out a promotional calendar, and can keep multiple projects moving forward.
- Social Media Savvy: You know how to capture fun, engaging photo and video content on your phone for platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
- Light Design Skills: You are comfortable using tools like Canva (or similar) to whip up clean, attractive graphics for daily social posts.
- Local to the DMV: You have reliable transportation to visit our Maryland and Virginia stores on a regular basis.
- Self-Starter: You can manage your own time in a hybrid environment and balance daily tasks with long-term calendar planning.
How to Join the Team
We value transparency and respect your time. Here’s what to expect:
- Virtual Interview: A video conversation with our team.
- Follow-Up: Some candidates may be invited for a brief second conversation with our executive leadership team.
