About Law Firm Velocity
Law Firm Velocity provides CFO, controller, and bookkeeping services for growth-stage law firms. We help law firm owners understand their finances, improve profitability, and make smarter business decisions. We were named to the 2025 Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies. Now we’re looking for the person who executes our marketing.
The Role
This role is focused on execution. The strategy is already set; your responsibility will be to bring it to life through consistent content, organized systems, and reliable follow-through.
You’ll work closely with our fractional CMO, firm leadership, SEO agency, and an existing part-time marketing coordinator. Responsibilities will be divided based on strengths, with this role leaning into writing, content, and marketing coordination. The shared goal: make sure law firm owners already understand why we’re different before they get on a sales call.
Core Responsibilities
Content Production
- Write and manage LinkedIn posts, blog content, and marketing resources in a confident, insight-led voice. The tone should resemble a CFO sharing observations, not a marketer chasing engagement. Reference point: Michael King at Civil CFO. https://www.linkedin.com/company/civilcfo/posts/?feedView=all
- Build a monthly CFO email newsletter: one topic, one practical observation, one implication for law firm owners. We value useful content over posting for the sake of it.
- Quarterly print newsletter developed for a selected group of personal injury firms.
- Produce long-form blog and resource content at the depth of Clio’s blog (https://www.clio.com/blog/law-firm-financing/) and develop a quarterly print newsletter for a select group of personal injury firms.
Channel and Asset Management
- Keep the content calendar, asset folders, and marketing library organized so the team can locate materials quickly. Keep website service, team, and resource pages current as our proof system grows across CFO Services, Injury and Contingency, Bookkeeping and Controller, and Trust Accounting and IOLTA.
- Design and maintain marketing materials in Canva or InDesign: one-pagers, PDFs, conference handouts, and referral kits.
Sales and Referral Support
- Schedule referral partner meetings and maintain a consistent touchpoint cadence (monthly for active partners, quarterly for strategic ones, reactivation for dormant). Make sure prospects receive pre-call materials before inbound sales meetings.
- Support conference activation: pre-event attendee segmentation, event landing pages, and post-event follow-up.
Systems and Measurement
- Own data accuracy in Salesforce (lead source, stage, close rate, channel attribution) and maintain the marketing KPI dashboards.
- AI tools are used fluently for research, drafting, and content development. We expect AI to function as a force multiplier rather than a shortcut to mediocre output.
Recruiting Support
Build and maintain a roster of legal CFOs and finance managers, load contacts into the CRM, run outbound campaigns to stay in regular contact, and help coordinate interview scheduling.

What Success Looks Like
Within the first 90 days: the four flagship pages and PDFs (CFO Services, Injury and Contingency, Bookkeeping and Controller, Trust Accounting) are published or visibly improved, the LinkedIn rhythm is consistent, and the monthly CFO email is going out on schedule.
By month six, prospects arrive at sales calls already understanding the difference between bookkeeping, controller, and CFO services. Referral partners have a current asset kit they actually use.
By month twelve, the proof system is generating qualified CFO conversations from organic, referral, conference, and email channels, with clean data showing which channels produce the best-fit clients.
Candidate Requirements
- 3+ years in B2B content marketing, ideally for professional services, finance, or legal clients (or an agency serving those industries).
- Ability to write clearly about financial topics for non-financial audiences. A portfolio or writing samples are required.
- Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals (Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Surfer) is sufficient to coordinate with our SEO agency and brief content for search intent.
- Comfortable in a CMS (WordPress or Webflow), an email platform (ConvertKit, HubSpot, or Mailchimp), and design/video tools (Canva, InDesign, Descript, CapCut, or Adobe Express).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines independently. We currently use Asana for project management.
- Daily use of AI tools, with a clear sense of where they help and where they get in the way.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with the legal industry or practice management software (Clio, MyCase, Filevine, or Casepeer).
- Video editing for LinkedIn and YouTube — CFO walkthroughs, dashboard explainers, “how our first 60 days work” content. Podcast production and guest coordination.
- Paid media: LinkedIn promotion of high-performing posts and Google Ads, with a focus on fixing conversion tracking and aligning landing pages before scaling spend.
- Working knowledge of GA4, UTM tracking, and conversion attribution.
- Hands-on Salesforce experience.
- Experience in marketing a premium professional services firm where the goal is to qualify prospects, not generate volume.
What This Role Will Not Include
We’re not looking for someone to chase trends, post on Instagram or TikTok, or generate lead volume for its own sake. Our positioning is specialist, calm, and financially rigorous — the marketing should sound the same way. If you’d rather build something credible than something loud, this role is a strong fit.
