We are so excited to build our team at Riverwalker Talent. This is a great time to help us build our impact and deliver more value to our audience.

This is a fully remote PT contract role. You must have US work authorization and be able to work some EST hours.

What You'll Do

As our Marketing & Design Intern, you'll be the creative force behind our digital presence. You'll design graphics, develop social media strategy and content, refresh our website, and help us tell our story in compelling, beautiful ways. This is real creative work that will be seen by thousands of people in the social impact community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Interview founder for additional content ideas and utilize previous content to repurpose

Website Support:

  • Update website content to keep it fresh, accurate, and engaging
  • Suggest design improvements for better user experience
  • Create visual elements for new website pages or sections
  • Help maintain our online portfolio of client success stories
  • Ensure website reflects our evolving brand and services

Brand Development:

  • Help develop brand guidelines and asset libraries
  • Support special campaigns or initiatives with creative content

Who You Are

We're looking for someone who's creative, detail-oriented, and excited about using design to advance social impact. You don't need to be a professional designer — you just need a good eye, basic design skills, and the eagerness to learn and grow.

We want to translate our founder's vision, insights, and tips into value for our audience that helps us be recognized by our brand and the value delivered to our audience.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have a creative eye and enjoy visual storytelling
  • Have capacity and experience interviewing people to create content
  • Comfort with design tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms (we will use Canva)
  • Write clearly and can craft engaging social media captions
  • Are organized enough to plan content calendars and think strategically
  • Pay attention to detail (consistency and quality matter!)
  • Care about social impact, equity, and mission-driven work
  • Can work independently in a remote environment while staying connected
  • Are open to feedback and eager to develop your skills

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience planning or creating social media content (personal or professional)
  • Familiarity with website platforms like Squarespace, WordPress, or Wix (we use Squarespace)
  • Photography or video editing skills
  • A portfolio
  • Understanding of accessibility in design (alt text, contrast, readability)
  • Experience in the nonprofit or social justice sectors
