What We’re Looking For

As the Marketing Director for El Gouna Film Festival, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the festival, increase its visibility, and drive audience engagement. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with a diverse team of professionals to ensure the success of the festival. Your role will involve Managing a wide range of marketing activities and initiatives, Requiring strong leadership, strategic Thinking, and a deep understanding of the global film industry.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan, to enhance the festival's brand awareness and reach a diverse global audience. including objectives, strategies, and tactics to increase awareness and drive attendance for the El Gouna Film Festival.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the festival's brand, ensuring consistency and coherence across all marketing materials Including promotional campaigns, press releases, digital content, and advertising collateral.
  • Develop and manage the festival's digital presence, including the website, social media channels, and email campaigns. Monitor and analyse the performance of digital marketing campaigns and make data-driven decisions to optimize results.
  • Analyse marketing data and metrics to evaluate the impact of campaigns, identify areas for improvement, and optimize marketing performance.
  • The Marketing department may focus on creating content for social media that supports the festival's overall communications Department plan and messaging.
  • Plan and execute advertising campaigns across various channels, such as print, radio, online, and outdoor. Manage promotional partnerships and coordinate promotional activities.
  • Oversee the development of festival-related content, including blog posts, articles, videos, and other multimedia assets.
  • Collaborate with the programming and events team to promote screenings, panel discussions, workshops, and other festival special events, media partners, sponsors, and stakeholders to maximize promotional opportunities and secure media coverage for the festival.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and monitoring expenses to stay within budget.
  • Manage and lead the marketing team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure a high level of performance, professional development and successful execution of marketing initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience of 10 years or more in marketing and promotions within the film industry or related fields, with a strong understanding of international film festivals.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and content marketing.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in managing budgets and allocating resources effectively.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • A passion for film and the arts, with a deep understanding of global cinema and the evolving landscape of the film industry.
