J&K Beef Jerky is a fast-growing premium beef jerky brand based in California. We make thick-cut, real brisket jerky with bold flavors and no shortcuts. We also operate El Jefe Snacks, our sister brand focused on bold, handcrafted flavors. We are scaling fast and looking for a sharp, data-driven marketing leader to help us get to the next level.
The Role
We are looking for a full-time remote Marketing Director who owns our entire marketing operation end to end. This is not a manager who delegates everything. This is someone who gets in the weeds, knows the platforms inside and out, and drives real revenue. You will be accountable for growth across every channel we operate.
What You Will Own
Amazon
- Manage and optimize all Amazon ad campaigns (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display)
- Monitor ACOS, TACOS, organic vs PPC split, and weekly sales pace
- Own inventory forecasting in coordination with operations
- Improve product listings, A+ content, and review strategy
- Identify new ASINs and growth opportunities on the platform
Facebook / Meta Ads
- Run and optimize all paid social campaigns across J&K and El Jefe Snacks
- Manage creative testing — UGC, static, video — and scale winning ads
- Own audience strategy including A+SC, lookalikes, retargeting, and cold traffic
- Monitor ROAS, cost per purchase, reach, and creative fatigue weekly
- Brief and direct UGC creators and video production as needed
Klaviyo — Email and SMS
- Own the full email and SMS calendar — strategy, segmentation, copy direction, and deployment
- Build and optimize automated flows — welcome, abandoned cart, post-purchase, win-back, sunset
- Grow the subscriber list and improve deliverability
- Track attributed revenue, open rates, click rates, and revenue per recipient
- Manage promotions, discount codes, and seasonal campaigns
Shopify
- Own storefront performance — conversion rate, AOV, and session quality
- Monitor the full funnel from sessions to completed purchase
- Coordinate product launches, clearance campaigns, and bundle deals
- Work with discount codes and ensure all promotions are set up correctly
- Analyze top SKUs, sales channels, and customer mix weekly
Google Ads
- Manage Performance Max and branded search campaigns
- Monitor CPA, conversion rate, and spend efficiency
- Identify opportunities to scale or cut based on performance data
- Own the Google MER contribution and report on it weekly
Reporting and Analytics
- Own the weekly MER report across all channels
- Present performance in clear, digestible summaries for leadership
- Track D2C and Amazon profitability separately and combined
- Identify trends, flag issues early, and come with solutions not just data
Who You Are
- You have at least 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience managing DTC brand marketing across multiple channels
- You have run Facebook and Google ads yourself — not just managed agencies
- You know Klaviyo inside and out — flows, segments, campaigns, and deliverability
- You understand Amazon advertising and organic growth strategy
- You are comfortable with Shopify analytics and can connect marketing decisions to store performance
- You are a self-starter who works well remotely without needing to be managed
- You think in numbers but you also understand brand voice and copy
- You are used to moving fast, wearing multiple hats, and getting things done
Bonus Points
- Experience with consumer packaged goods or food and beverage brands
- Experience scaling a DTC brand past $1M in annual revenue
- Familiarity with UGC content strategy and creator management
- Experience with Amazon FBA and inventory management
