Position Overview
The Marketing & Fund Development Coordinator is a mission-driven, strategic, and highly collaborative professional who advances the visibility, philanthropic support, and community impact of Camp Fire North Texas. This role blends digital marketing, storytelling, donor engagement, fundraising execution, and community representation.
The ideal candidate is a mission-driven self-starter with strong relationship-building skills, excellent communication, sound judgment, and a demonstrated ability to create compelling digital content. This person will strengthen donor and sponsor relationships, represent Camp Fire at community events (including evenings and weekends), and support multi-channel marketing and fundraising strategies that expand our reach and community support. They must be able to think independently, navigate challenges with professionalism, and move projects forward with limited day-to-day supervision.
This is a full-time salaried position.
Key Responsibilities
Mission‑Driven Marketing & Content Creation
- Develop and implement marketing strategies that promote Camp Fire programs, events, and fundraising initiatives.
- Create, manage, and maintain engaging content for social media, the website, email communications, newsletters, printed materials, and other digital channels.
- Ensure the Camp Fire website is continuously updated with current events, program information, and mission‑aligned messaging.
- Capture photos, videos, stories, and other content at programs, fundraisers, and events to support marketing and fundraising efforts.
- Collaborate with staff to create flyers, brochures, banners, newsletters, and other promotional materials.
- Develop marketing timelines, storyboards, and campaign plans for Executive Director approval.
- Develop and produce mission-aligned digital content, including podcasts, short-form and long-form videos, interviews, and storytelling assets that help move the organization forward in an increasingly digital environment.
Social Media & Community Engagement
- Plan and schedule social media posts that highlight programs, impact stories, and community partnerships.
- Monitor engagement, respond to messages, and cultivate a positive online presence that reflects Camp Fire’s values.
- Track analytics to evaluate effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed.
- Recommend and implement new digital strategies, platforms, and audience-growth tactics that strengthen Camp Fire’s online presence and support long-term marketing and fundraising goals.
Fund Development & Donor Support
- Support major fund development efforts, including annual campaigns, donor communication, stewardship, sponsorship coordination, appeals, and other revenue-generating initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
- Play an active role in helping Camp Fire grow contributed revenue through donor cultivation, sponsorship development, fundraising campaigns, events, and community engagement.
- Plan and coordinate meetings, fundraisers, donor cultivation activities, and sponsor engagement opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, businesses, and community partners to support long‑term organizational growth.
- Assist with donor outreach materials, presentations, and digital fundraising assets.
Event Support & Representation
- Attend and staff event booths, community outreach events, and fundraisers, including weeknights and weekends as needed.
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, coordination, and volunteer support.
- Serve as a warm, knowledgeable ambassador for Camp Fire’s mission.
Collaboration & Organizational Support
- Work closely with the Executive Director on marketing approvals, reporting, and strategic planning.
- Exercise sound judgment, solve problems proactively, and bring forward thoughtful recommendations and solutions with minimal oversight.
- Recruit and manage volunteers for marketing and fundraising activities.
- Coordinate with local and regional partners on joint projects and initiatives.
- Support staff with programs, events, and organizational projects as needed.
Competencies & Attributes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with social media platforms, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and marketing tools.
- Comfortable using analytics, digital marketing tools, and content platforms to measure performance, improve engagement, and guide strategy.
- Creative storyteller with hands-on experience producing high-quality content across digital platforms, including social media, video, audio, email, and web.
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple projects.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and resourceful, with the ability to take initiative, manage priorities independently, solve problems effectively, and consistently produce high-quality work.

Education & Experience
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field strongly preferred. Equivalent professional experience with a strong track record of results may be considered in place of formal education.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, fundraising support, donor relations, community engagement, or digital content creation preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage social media platforms, create compelling content, and support marketing campaigns.
- Experience creating and managing digital content such as podcasts, video storytelling, interviews, or other multimedia assets is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, sponsorship outreach, or community partnerships is strongly preferred.
- A genuine commitment to Camp Fire’s mission and a desire to contribute to meaningful work that strengthens children, families, and the community are essential.
- Prior experience in a nonprofit, youth‑serving, or community focused organization is a plus.
- A combination of education, professional experience, and relevant skills will be considered.
Working Conditions
- Work occurs at the Camp Fire Harrell Park, the Camp Fire office, and off-site community events.
- Remote work is only permitted with the Executive Director's approval in limited circumstances.
- Occasional travel for conferences or professional development.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours required for events and fundraisers.
Hours, Compensation & Benefits
- Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with adjusted hours for events.
- Salaried position beginning at $37,440 annually (equivalent to $18.00/hour), based on experience.
- Occasional extended hours for events, fundraisers, and community outreach.
- Medical benefits available after 90 days.
- Accrued PTO/Vacation.
- Mileage reimbursement.
