Pay Rate: $38-$41 per hour

Position reports to: Director of Development, oversees Digital Marketing Lead

Work week: 38hrs per week, Monday-Friday, Hybrid – minimum of 2 days in office.

Some weekends, evenings and special events required.

POSITION SUMMARY

As Marketing Manager, you will have the opportunity to share the joy and work KidsQuest Children’s Museum does throughout the community. You will be instrumental in furthering our marketing strategy to reach and support children and families who are at the core of what we do and love.

This position creates, implements, and oversees KidsQuest’s external marketing to effectively promote the organization, its mission, programmatic offerings, and role as a community asset. The Marketing Manager works closely with all departments to develop and implement strategic marketing plans and promotional efforts, demonstrating a cohesive organizational voice. This position works with all marketing contractors and vendors to plan and execute the Museum’s advertising and marketing efforts, media and public relations initiatives, and content creation and dissemination. The Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Development and oversees the Digital Marketing Lead. As a team, they collaborate to create strategies that successfully meet revenue, reach, and audience development goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Strategic Planning and Leadership

  • Develop and execute an annual marketing and communications plan to advance KidsQuest’s brand, programming, service, and development goals. Build upon communications strategies and campaigns to target wider audiences and increase Museum attendance.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to align marketing communications with organizational priorities, ensuring consistency and impact across all touchpoints.
  • Supervise the Digital Marketing Lead and collaborate to implement proactive, timely, and relevant media tactics. Encourage an environment that is welcoming and supportive of life-long learning. Share opportunities for professional development.
  • Maintain efficient internal processes and procedures related to marketing and communications requests and fulfillment
  • Remain informed of industry trends through seminars, reading materials, and relationships with leaders in the field. Keep staff informed of marketing strategies, efforts, trends, and results.

AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT

  • Manage KidsQuest’s external advertising purchases, develop and manage vendor relationships, and seek new opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
  • In collaboration with all departments, guide strategies in customer relations and data collection to understand audience and visitor experience.
  • Utilize market research and performance data to optimize marketing initiatives and drive ROI.

GRAPHIC DESIGN & Brand Management

  • Design and oversee production of internal and external marketing projects, including (but not limited to) printed collateral, digital graphics, and special event visual identities.
  • Work in collaboration with contracted graphic designer for larger scale external Oversee the content creation, maintenance, and analytics of the organization’s website.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

  • Collaborate with Director of Development on public relations efforts, including writing press releases and local media relations to enhance the Museum’s visibility and reputation.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience is required with at least (2) years of people/team management experience.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content management systems (CMS)
  • Demonstrated skills in graphic design, print production layout design, illustration, and digital design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Platform and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with experience in evolving and managing a brand voice that adapts to and resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of brand management, content strategy, and digital marketing.
  • Ability to use written and verbal communication effectively with a wide variety of individuals including donors, corporate representatives, teens, children, and parents.

Preferred

  • Experience working on a small team
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field

  • Conduct a criminal background check on all prospective employees
  • Require proof of immunizations within thirty days of employment
  • Require certification in Adult, Child and Infant CPR, First Aid, and AED
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccines are strongly encouraged, but not required.
