Senior Director Human Resources & Talent Acquisition Strategic Partner linking Human Capital with Business Results
Job Purpose
To ensure a world class level of marketing that adopts a mix of traditional and innovative tactics and strategies, reflecting the positioning of the events portfolio. The role will engage with key stakeholders across all events within the portfolio to drive successful exhibitor, delegate, and visitor engagement.
Key Accountabilities
- Create and implement an integrated marketing campaign for the entire exhibition, including exhibitor, delegate, and visitor campaigns.
- Develop a marketing plan focused on lead generation and work closely with internal teams to ensure optimal marketing for each aspect of the event.
- Forecast, manage, and monitor the marketing budget, timelines, and media plans.
- Utilise the full marketing mix to promote exhibitions and conferences, including below the line and above the line channels such as email, direct mail, PR, social media, outdoor advertising, online advertising, trade and daily press, SMS, website, radio, search engine marketing, and TV.
- Manage the cleaning, verification, and growth of the event database.
- Negotiate barter agreements with relevant media partners and industry associations.
- Ensure event websites are accurate and fully up to date; manage integration of third party modules such as floor planners, event apps, and registration platforms.
- Manage and utilise digital tools (e.g. event apps, survey tools) to enhance marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate the design, production, and distribution of all marketing collateral including brochures, tickets, reports, print and digital advertisements, and email campaigns.
- Oversee PPC campaigns in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Executive, reviewing performance and making optimisation recommendations.
- Provide on site support to ensure smooth execution of marketing related activities, including registration, press office coordination, branding placement, research, and sales stand support.
Job Specific Skills
- Marketing strategy development and critical path analysis.
- Experience managing databases for mass and targeted direct marketing campaigns.
- Experience overseeing the production of mobile applications and online registration systems.
- People management and stakeholder coordination.
- Website user experience and content management.
- Budget management with accountability for channel selection and spend decisions.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong negotiation and relationship building capabilities.
- High attention to detail and quality control.
- Experience using email service providers (ESP), including HTML and plain text email setup.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities.
- Practices effective time management and prioritisation.
- Acts with professionalism, integrity, and reliability.
Works collaboratively and contributes positively to team culture.
Large scale events & exhibitions industry experience preferred.
Minimum of 2+ years' experience at a mid management marketing level. Event marketing experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
