The Marketing Manager supports the College’s efforts to elevate its brand and strengthen stakeholder engagement. Reporting to the Director of Communications and Marketing, this role plays a key part in implementing integrated, multi-channel communications strategies through social media management, website content coordination, photography/videography, and graphic design. The position collaborates broadly across campus, providing responsive support to departments and contributing to a consistent, compelling, and accessible public presence for the College. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires creativity, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Examples of Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Social Media

  • Manage and grow the college’s social media presence (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube organic content), incorporating social strategies to increase engagement.
  • Coordinate/take photos/videos for use on social media.
  • Create reels and brand videos
  • Manage consistency of style and brand on social media.
  • Support content for social media advertising strategies.
  • Draft and update plans for specific social media campaigns of limited duration.
  • Enhance post and page content (words and images) for accessibility to ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
  • Update social media strategy and tactics following best practices as trends and technology evolve.

Photography/Videography

  • Serve as photographer/videographer for college events, programs, activities, initiatives, and important news to visually document and distribute on various communication platforms.

Website

  • Provide oversight for and lead the content management of the college’s public-facing website.
  • Maintaining the college’s public-facing website architecture, navigational structure, user interface, visual design, and page content, in coordination with Director.
  • Ensure standard accessibility best practices for website management.
  • Engage in search engine optimization and generative engine optimization content research and best practices to enhance the college’s website.

Reporting

  • Coordinate the development of metrics and reporting associated with communications and marketing team efforts, including website analytics, digital advertising tracking, social media efforts, and communications campaigns.

Graphic Design

  • Develop and produce editorial content and graphic design elements for use in digital and print communications, including but not limited to social media, the website, digital signage, printed signage, t-shirts, printed marketing items, and e-newsletters.

Campus and Community Stakeholder Relationships

  • Build relationships across every department of the college as well as with several stakeholder audiences as a representative of the brand.
  • Integrate relationships and cross-collaboration into every aspect of the Office of Communications
  • Support offices throughout the College with various Communications and Marketing needs; strong customer service for internal ‘clients’.
  • Interact with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including K-12 students and families, staff on construction job sites, students and faculty in technical classroom labs, high-profile VIP visitors, and public, community-facing events.

Event support

  • In addition to serving as the event photographer, provide event support as needed, including but not limited to graphic design for event programs and materials, coordination support, social media content development, signage creation, website updates, media alerts and releases, and event set up and tear down.
  • Coordinate and manage the appearance schedule of the college’s mascot in tandem with appropriate staff, assist the mascot with costuming, and act as a handler while the mascot is in costume.
  • Schedule and manage photographers and videographers for college events and activities.

Other Responsibilities

  • Coordinate promotional items purchases and distribution according to budget and policy.
  • Assist in crisis communications as instructed by Director of Communications and Marketing or other leadership.
  • Assist with email newsletter communications, internal communications, and other written communications content as directed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all College policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May supervise student workers.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

Technical and Creative

  • Creating and managing social media content across platforms; growing engagement
  • Ability to capture, edit, and produce photography, videography, and multimedia content
  • Experience with web content management systems, accessibility standards, and basic SEO principles
  • Skill in designing and developing digital and print collateral that aligns with brand standards
  • Ability to manage analytics and metrics, drawing clear, actionable conclusions

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills able to be tailored for diverse audiences.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (marketing, business, communications, public relations, graphic design, English preferred);
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience;
  • Hands-on experience producing social media content and managing platforms
  • Photography and/or videography skills for professional use
  • Experience using web content management systems
  • Graphic design material creation
  • Event coordination and support
  • Working cross-functionally with multiple internal departments
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple responsibilities

Supplemental Information

Work Environment and/or Physical Demands:

  • Must have reliable transportation to get between College locations multiple times each week.
  • Work environment will vary from day-to-day, and may include locations such as offices, community events, construction sites, outdoor athletic events, indoor athletic events, classroom laboratories, and VIP visitor tours and events.
  • Due to the nature of the job responsibilities and varied locations, must be able to remain flexible while professionally attired in clothing appropriate for the setting and associated stakeholders.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Conditions may require walking, stooping, climbing, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting (less than or equal to 50 pounds), high climbing, bending, working in awkward positions handling equipment and materials.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

This position may be designated as "Essential" and/or the employee may be required to provide a means to be contacted during non-duty hours for emergencies. In the event of a campus emergency, special event, closure to maintain campus safety or

  • building operations, this position may be required to work outside of regularly scheduled hours.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, cell phone, and camera. Must be willing and able to perform some evening/weekend work for events, including but not limited to athletic events, open house, homecoming, banquets, and graduation ceremonies. Weekend work is known well in advance, and evening work is balanced into regular schedule.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, this would require the ability to lift occasionally, walking, and bending or standing as necessary. Work involves operating a computer, sitting for extended hours at a desk and communicating over telephone or by email.
