Position Summary: The Marketing & Public Relations Manager leads the organization’s marketing, communications, and public relations efforts to expand visibility, engage key audiences, and support the mission of St. Louis Center (SLC). SLC’s mission is to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an intentional, faith-based community while spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. This role develops strategic communication plans, oversees brand consistency, manages content across channels, and works closely with leadership to strengthen community outreach and donor engagement. The Manager serves as a storyteller, connector, and advocate for the Center’s programs.
Marketing & Brand Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive annual marketing and communications plan; manage and strengthen the organization’s brand identity across print, digital, and in‑person platforms; ensure consistent messaging; create targeted campaigns to support fundraising, community programming, and outreach initiatives; and monitor campaign performance using analytics and reporting tools.
Public Relations & Media Management: Build and maintain relationships with local and regional media outlets; prepare and distribute press releases, media advisories, and background materials; coordinate interviews and media opportunities; develop key messaging for leadership; support crisis communication efforts; and position St. Louis Center as a trusted community leader.
Digital Marketing & Content Creation: Oversee website content management; ensure accuracy, accessibility, and timely updates of program information; manage social media presence through content planning, engagement monitoring, and community building; produce email campaigns, newsletters, and digital fundraising communications; and create or oversee the development of graphics, videos, and promotional materials.
Communications & Storytelling: Develop compelling, mission-driven content that highlights the impact of St. Louis Center’s programs; gather stories from residents, families, staff, and supporters; collaborate with program teams to translate outcomes into clear public messages; and write speeches, scripts, recognition statements, and executive communications.
Event & Campaign Support: Promote fundraising events, program campaigns, volunteer initiatives, and community gatherings through targeted marketing strategies; assist with event collateral and promotional materials; support messaging before, during, and after events to maximize engagement and visibility.
Management & Collaboration: Supervise interns, volunteers, or external vendors such as photographers, videographers, or graphic designers; collaborate with development, administrative, and program teams to ensure messaging alignment; manage timelines and workflow for cross-department communications; and oversee the annual marketing and communications budget.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field; 3–5 years of professional experience in marketing or communications (nonprofit experience preferred); demonstrated success in content creation, media relations, marketing strategy, and brand management.
Skills & Competencies: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines; proficiency with digital marketing tools including social media platforms, email marketing software, and website content management systems; familiarity with graphic design software platforms; and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
