Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina in 1963, Leonard Truck Outfitters is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trailers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. We serve our residential, commercial, fleet, and government customers through our 150+ retail store locations in eighteen states, supported by our Customer Support Center, distribution centers, and strategically located manufacturing facilities.


Job Summary

The Marketing Specialist position is based at the Leonard CSC location, with responsibility for developing, executing, and measuring strategic marketing initiatives to increase brand awareness, drive sales, and support business growth across retail, e-commerce, and commercial channels. This position reports directly to the Head of Marketing. There is no responsibility for managing direct reports.


Job Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements marketing plans that align with corporate objectives and sales goals.
  • Oversees planning, execution, communication, and measurement of advertising, promotions, events, and digital campaigns across multiple channels and audiences.
  • Monitors and measures campaign performance to optimize ROI.
  • Ensures consistency in branding, messaging, and creative assets across all platforms.
  • Partners with merchandising and sales teams on product launches, promotions, and customer engagement strategies.
  • Manages content creation, social media presence, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Drives growth in web traffic and lead capture through SEO/SEM, other methods of paid advertising, email marketing, other CRM and affinity marketing, and website optimization.
  • Partners with the IT and development teams on enhancements to Leonard’s website UX and evolution towards e-commerce capability.
  • Optimizes Leonard’s presentation, positioning and sales opportunities on partner vendor websites and co-marketing initiatives.
  • Leverages analytics tools to monitor customer behavior, online performance, and conversion rates.
  • Manages relationships with external agencies and marketing services vendors.
  • Collaborates with commercial upfit centers and retail operations on local marketing initiatives and requests
  • Operates within the parameters of the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and accuracy in accounting for and reporting expenses on a regular basis.
  • Partners with customer service and sales teams to capture customer feedback, and support the development of regular measurement of customer feedback
  • Explore advancements in marketing and advertising technology, recommending changes or tests to current processes that support growth and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain YOY tracking of marketing event and promotional performance for the purpose of quarterly and annual planning input.

Competencies (skills, knowledge, and abilities)

  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business goals into marketing initiatives.
  • Experience with digital marketing, SEO, SEM, and campaign analytics.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of marketing automation tools, Google Analytics, SEO/SEM, and CRM systems.
  • Understanding of Artificial Intelligence engines and how they can be leveraged for retail marketing.
  • Experience with communicating to a field based team or sales force.
  • Experience with online project management tools.
  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work independently from a remote location.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, with demonstrated experience in successfully leading teams and/or projects.
  • Experience in retail, e-commerce, or manufacturing/distribution industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-channel marketing campaigns and budgets.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, analytics, and reporting tools.

Travel:

This position has some travel required meetings at the Customer Support Center, as well as to field marketing events and vendor meetings.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a keyboard, phone, and copier.
  • Occasional movement throughout the office and collaboration with teams in retail or production environments.
  • Minimal lifting (up to 20 lbs.) may occasionally be required for promotional materials or events.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to required meetings and events by car within a 300 mile radius of your home.
  • Close vision required for computer work, reviewing creative assets, and campaign materials.
