Marketing Specialist
Role Description
This is a full-time (will consider part time), ON-SITE role for a Marketing Specialist located in Saratoga Springs, NY. The Marketing Specialist will be responsible for day to day marketing, including daily in-house outreach and communications with demographic served and in programs; marketing on all other platforms as well- developing and implementing marketing strategies, managing PR and communication channels, and enhancing customer service and market research. Day-to-day tasks include creating marketing materials, engaging with the community to promote the Center's programs, weekly emails, managing the social media and website and supporting initiatives to attract new members and sponsors.

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating all marketing initiatives, including performance marketing, social media campaigns, and content creation. This role requires a blend of creativity and analytical skills to drive brand awareness and engagement across multiple channels. The Marketing Specialist will develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the senior center's programs, services, and events to older adults and their families, volunteers, donors, and the broader community.
Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Performance
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing strategies that align with organizational goals
- Manage and optimize performance marketing campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads and social media
- Conduct SEO research to enhance website visibility and drive organic traffic
- Manage the organization's social media presence and respond to inquiries
- Track marketing metrics and adjust strategies accordingly using analytics tools
Content Creation & Design
- Create engaging content for print materials, website, social media platforms, email newsletters, and blogs
- Design flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials with accessibility considerations
- Coordinate photography and videography for events and programs
- Develop multi-generational marketing materials that reach both seniors and their adult children
Community Engagement & Media Relations
- Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets to increase community awareness
- Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities
- Collaborate with volunteer coordination and community partnership initiatives
- Support crisis communication efforts when needed
Collaboration & Support
- Collaborate with programs, fundraising, and services teams to ensure cohesive messaging and branding
- Coordinate with external vendors and agencies for advertising initiatives
- Support budgeting processes by tracking expenditures and ensuring alignment with marketing goals
- Assist with fundraising communications and grant writing support as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field
- 1-3 years of marketing experience, preferably in non-profit sector
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with social media platforms and content management systems
- Experience with graphic design software (Canva) and basic photography
- Knowledge of email marketing platforms and analytics tools
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Preferred:
- Understanding of senior issues and sensitivity to the needs of older adults
- Experience with accessibility standards in digital communications
- Familiarity with fundraising communications and donor engagement
- Experience with volunteer coordination or community partnerships
- Multi-generational marketing approach experience
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to attend community events and represent the organization in various settings
- Occasional lifting of promotional materials and event supplies
